What are your ideas on this - to know if a market or niche is saturated?

I wouldn't worry so much about splitting hairs over saturation levels of different niches. Instead focus on developing creative ways to market your product/service/offer. If you can market creatively saturation levels won't really matter that much.

Good tips above.....I remember reading Conversation Domination a while back, and Howie teaches to only target the big popular niches. He had a free ebook but I see he has a $1 trial now. Conversation Domination he really knows his stuff, but if you join his newsletter be prepared for lot's of emails! He is no joke. |

Have a look on google and see if a keyword has more than 10 thousand competitors, anything under that is good and much easier to dominate

Saturation is not as important as long as there are enough keywords with significant searches. In some markets you can't touch the most popular keywords but there is plenty of traffic with the secondary keywords and long tail keywords.

Saturation in PPC is for keywords, not the whole niche. As long as you can find enough long tail keywords with medium/low competition, you will do well in any niche.
