Whats the best to advertise on my fan page wall?

Hi guys, hope you're having a great weekend. For those of you that have used a fan page to market cpa offers, can you please help me out?

What's the best way to advertise an offer on your fan page wall without sounding like a marketer. Should the message be short? Or detailed? Do you use the 'link' option to post on your wall or do you use the 'status' option and include a link in the text?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
