Default CPL Campaigns.....Where to start?

So recently I have been looking into CPL, from my understanding it's a win win, because I only pay the advertiser once the pixel fires, and Im only pid once the pixel fires as well.

So set you CPL amount to anything less than your payout amount, and set it and forget it as long as it's a viable traffic source. I saw that Google used to have a CPL program, but they got rid of it. Seems like the big search engines would laugh at this, but what about some of the less common ones, are there specific sites that get quality traffic, and specifically run these type of ads? Also is this more suited for media buys? I really emphasize the point of quality traffic.

I just want to hear your thoughts on what works and what doesnt, because although Im not new to CPA, this CPL thing sounds intriguing. It's almost as if I set up an ad on a CPA Network and from another CPA network.....at least id think it would be analogous to that. I just want to hear thoughts and opinions on the subject in general. Im still doing my research, but would love to hear what some of the big guys have to say on the subject.....pros and cons, ect ect.

Thanks

Jeremy

I hate to tell you this, but you are WRONG. What you describe isn't win-win as long as the merchant gets FREE traffic and doesn't take any risks.

What you want to do is get paid for each "potential customer" you refer to a merchant (hence lead generation). If you only get paid once his pixel fires such as sales, credit card signups, etc ... the merchant gets a free ride on your tail and doesnt take a risk.

Thats why "Lead Generation" or "Get Paid Per Lead/Form Submit" is the best business model in the affiliate world: you SPLIT the risk!

Any questions just let me know,
Nick

LOL! Nicolas.......Pixeling firing does not imply a sale, pixeling fire can be after the email gets entered or the zip or the short form or whatever it may be, we dont need selling for pixels to fire! They fire a ton, if they dont, well then our CR wouldnt be completely innaccurate, but luckily theyre not cuz our pixels fire even for lead generation! So......I wont say it but.....

Next?
