Default Getting facebook ads approved

Hi guys,

I was wondering if some of you could give me some input here as I've run all out of ideas.

I've attempted to launch ~ 70 ads on facebook so far and all have been disapproved.

The reason the are rejecting my ads is because the content of my ad (the title and copy) breaks the TOS. After 50 failed attempts I just copied and pasted the exact titles and copy that they themselves say is OK in their guidelines.

The result is the same, disapproved because the content of my ad breaks TOS. The pics are just facial shots, nothing erotic or anything liek that so I don't think the are the problem.

I've sent facebook to help tickets asking for a bit of clarification but they haven't bothered to respond yet.

As I say any help would be really appreciated!

How about where you're linking to? Perhaps your landing page is your bigger issue. There has to be an underlying problem here. Facebook is tough, but not disapproving 70 ads in a row, tough.

At this rate your best bet is to show us or PM me your title, description, and pictures you're using. Along with the landing page, or a preview page. We can help get to the bottom of this.

Thanks for getting in touch Matthew.

I'm promoting true.com (a dating website) the lp has nothing sexual or anything on it, the main selling pitch of true is "safe" internet dating which I thought would go down well with facebook as in their dating guidelines it says that anything promoting affairs or casual sex is not acceptable.

My headline is:

Looking for love? (taken directly from facebook's dating guide which gives it as an example of what is allowed)

Ad copy is:

We have what you are looking for at True.com (again an example given as being what is acceptable by facebook themselves)

Cheers guys!

Dating is tough. Often times direct linking (especially if you have never had any ad's approved prior to running a dating campaign) will just leave your account flagged as a dating account.

Dating is the bane of advertising at Facebook. They hate the hell out of it. I personally never promoted dating on Facebook just because their approval rate for the stuff is absolutely idiotic.

I suggest running on Plenty of Fish. There is definitely more competition, but it is much easier to get approved and there is still plenty of room to make money. Just be a little creative, use your head to make your creatives, and perhaps try some landing pages if you have campaigns that look profitable. I've done dating on PoF and it's definitely got a lot of potential to yield some nice profits!

Yeah I was thinking of throwing in the towel with the dating offers. I'll try a different niche like games or something and if this idiotic approval rate continues then I'll just forget facebook ever existed lol

I've gotten 4 ads disapproved not in dating though. I'm creating a new landing hoping that will seal the deal. Good luck on your venture.

Thanks BillHus

Yeah I think I'm going to create some ads in "friendly" niches such as games or even promote some fanpages to try and give my account some positive rep. I've read the older your account is and the more ads you get approved the easier it is to get ads approved in the future.

I advise people starting in the facebook regime to make a lot of friendly ads first. Don't just jump in and try to promote dating and gambling and expect anything to get approved. Friendly niches like local businesses, games, facebook apps, etc. those are the ones that they really don't mind approving. Movies, entertainment, I can go on and on as to what is safer to promote.

Your account actually becomes flagged if a lot of your ads are denied, in which case, just makes you get denied even more just because the approval team they have just assumes that everything you've been trying to run is garbage and against their TOS.

I would say its the links and product you are trying to promote. But generally speaking, facebook traffic SUCKS in terms of quality. I tried it for a lot of high paying offers in lead generation and the quality was horrendous.

If you're "honestly" been disapproved 70 times.. that's a lot and unheard of in my experiences.

You must be doing something majorly wrong.

Also copying their ad copy wouldn't get you approved as it's their own copy.

I test out Facebook ads all the time and rarely every get disapproved. And if I do, I simply change the picture or copy (however my copy has never been an issue), just don't mention words like free, contest, and so forth.

I don't know what type of campaigns you are running, but I think Facebook does amazing. I just think it's a waste for you to direct the traffic right to the lead offer or whatever it is you are promoting.

You should capture them via a page/autoresponder first.

My conversions are good + great traffic that is extremely active and helpful in pushing campaigns much further.

After advertising all this time on facebook i found that their approval is pretty much random, keep trying! (don't forget to change things up a little)

Doesn't matter.

The reviewers are all over the place, and will be different reviewers. That's why an advertisement can be approved, and then another reviewer will go back and un-approve it.

Wow thanks for all the help guys, I really appreciate it.

Justin:

Yeah I have been disapproved 70 time for real. As you can imagine it's got pretty depressing lol. As far as taking their ad copy goes, I never planned on doing that, it's just that they were perpetually declining my ads because of the content so I thought what the hell just use what they say is good and try it out to see what happens.

I've actually submitted 2 help ticket asking them if there is a problem with my account or something but as of yet I've had no reply in 3 days (funny how when I emailed them about billing they responded in a couple of hours).

I've checked out tons of threads on facebook ads and for a lot of people it seems to be pot luck when getting ads approved.

I can only keep on trying and hopefully I'll have a breakthrough soon!

FB doesn't like true.com (or mate1 and sometimes not even be2). They are also incredibly random in approvals and retrospectively disapprove as well. Stay clear of dating if you want to be approved without too much bother.

Yea, just a few suggestions dude.

Don't submit the same ad again and again.

Don't use anyone else's copy.

Try to be realistic.

And make sure that the site you are linking to is of good value and not spammy or scammy.

That just happened to me....I was all happy like FINALLY I got 1 approved and some misery grantor came and slapped it down. I've changed my pic and copy. Gonna try again today...all I want is traffic to my fan page community.

It's really hard to give any real input without seeing the ads in question.. it is possible for facebook to disapprove a legit ad, they have done this time and time again.. but really we would need to see the ads to give the best input

On the Facebook ads community forum, I generally answer questions like this. For me to really judge why the ad was disapproved, I just ask two questions :

1) The adcopy
2) The landing page.

Most of the time, the first one was the reason of being disapproved. But when some got disapproved although the adcopy was fine, I started looking their landing pages. And really, that was the reason. You gotta sync your call of action with your landing page.

You are 100% right, people have 2 programmed mindsets:

1. They Are Actively Looking for Something = Google/YSM/Bing

Good for "quality" offers such as Insurance, Debt Relief, Travel, Physical Goods, Services, etc. When people want to know or find something they instantly think GOOGLE.

2. They Want to PLAY or "Hang Out" = Facebook or PPV

Good for games, dating, etc. Usually very "bad quality" because people are much less serious about buying. However, can still be great for coupons, restaurants, movies, etc. because it is a more "social" environment.

I use facebook ads daily and the best thing I can tell you is to setup a fanpage for your offer then direct the fb ad to the fanpage. Many times when I tried to direct link my fb ads to an external URL they got denied but when linking to a fanpage they get approved. Just what's working for me right now.

The best way to promote ads on facebook by keeping the traffic on facebook. If you are building ad campaigns and trying to send the traffic out of facebook then you are creating a nightmare for yourself. Build a fanpage around the type of traffic you want to target then traffic the type of traffic you're looking for and send them to your fanpage.

Only one person above.answered what is the exact problem. They wont tell you the exact reason but you gotta figure out when they reject 70 ads in one go.

Facebook hates true.com , flirt, be naughty, dream marriage, and other spicy offers.

Try be2, cupid and other nice ones. sometimes they reject mate1.

And with that title and body it will be pretty hard to convert . trust me.

Keep on testing pictures/ads and try not to use any copyright material...

Facebook ads is sometimes very hard to get approved but once it gets approved can get you a bunch of traffic going to your site.

Do you mind saying what offer (niche/vertical) you are promoting? And what country are you targeting?
