Basically i have a lot of traffic right now going to waste for one of the offers i'm promoting because it's not coming from the US. I did a 'country redirect' for all other countries but it redirects to a pretty irrelevant offer, so no conversions there. Mind you, about 80% of that traffic is foreign. So i'm thinking that I need to do at least something useful with all that traffic, and building an e-mail list seems like something that could come in handy in the future. Therefore I ask you guys, what are some essentials of an e-mail opt in form? What do i need? What program should I use to organize the e-mails? What kind of disclosure page and privacy page do I need? And everything else. Please point me in the right direction. Thanks! |

Hello Fellow Long Islander! First off, I use Aweber for lead capturing. It's an easy to use tool and it has everything you'll ever use for getting an email list together. They actually have a lot of opt-in templates you can probably implement into your website to get people to jot their emails down. You don't need any privacy page or anything, either. When they opt in, and confirm that they wanted to get on your e-mail list by clicking the link in a confirmation email, that's all the security you need. An easy thing to do is just put one of those forms that Aweber gives you scripts for on the sidebar of your website with some sort of call to action like, "Sign up here to get more deals!" or whatever the heck your website relates to. :: Matthew P |

From a copy stand point there's just a few key elements... Headline Sub Head Red Arrow pointing to email box single opt in with just email address required and a BIG button - I personally prefer "click here to continue" |
