Default CPA for Forums?

Hey everyone, I'm a webmaster for a <100,000 alexa website that receives over 2 million pageviews and 150k unique visitors a month. I have recently tried different CPM networks, some denied and some pay too low.

Adsense has been paying extremely low and I was considering CPA, honestly have not have too many experiences with CPA ad types. Are they standard IAB size or sometimes could take a full page like a pop up/slider ad?

Is it possible to make profits with CPA on a forum?

Its definitely possible. With cpa offers, you can use text links, IAB or any size banner, full page, pop up/under etc. Try promoting offers that match the demographics of your forum.

I've just signed up for a few, CPATank and Ascend. Both from what I read from Affpaying. Great site to read reviews.

Currently applied added on Skype. Sort of late here in the east coast. Really necessary to call them though?

Thanks for the kind words. They have different types of offers but both are great to work with.

Calling a network displays a number of positive attributes and there are also other benefits to speaking directly to a network at the point of approval.

1. You are proactive and keen to get started generating commissions and leads
2. You are not afraid to discuss your business over the phone and therefore less likely to be a scammer
3. If there is any doubt or hesitation over your application you can simply explain or describe in person over the phone, therefore increasing your chance of getting accepted.
4. It gives you a great opportunity to talk with your future AM and start to build a relationship immediately

As you can see the benefits far outweigh the inconveience of picking up a phone. Communication is a key to success in this business and by opening up lines of communication with you network you are taking the first steps down the right path.

Good luck.

Jason

As you are saying you are getting 150k unique vistors If you select proper offer for your forum traffic you can make hundreds of dollars & CPA networks provide IAB size banners so don't worry about that.

CPA offers are just offers, how you promote them is really your choice - you could choose to promote them with banners of any size, just text ads, pop-ups, etc..

What niche forum do you have? If it's tightly aligned with a CPA offer, it could be GOLD.

If most of your visitors/members stick for a long time, be sure not to promote a really scammy offer!
