Default CPC to CPM and Facebook Ad campaigns

Hi, Please an someone tell me if I can change from CPC to CPM during a Facebook Ad campaign?

This is my first Facebook Ad campaign. I'm wondering which to start with? I was advised to start with CPC.

Any advise in general would be great.
Many thanks

You should be able to change the campaign and it is highly recommend to do this so you can make sure you are getting the highest CTR.

I follow this simple rule. CPC is best for sales and response, CPM is for brand awareness. However, results are never guaranteed and you can sometimes find that CPM can outperform CPC. It really comes down to finding that great converting offer, and split testing!

Yes, you can. However, if you don't have experience with the platform I recommend you to use more CPC. CPM is more complex, because FB increases your frequency cap and it burns your budget faster, so you may want to start with CPC.

If you get ads with a CTR above 0.15% after the optimization, then it can be interesting to give them a shot using CPM.

Be careful, if you are using a redirect after campaign approval, when you change it from CPC to CPM it goes back through the process. So remove redirect, then change to CPM, wait for approval and then reapply.

...that's if you are redirecting.

You used to be able to do this 'on the fly' but now if you change you need to go through the approval process all over again..

CPC is typically good to use when your first learning, but then CPM once you've learned how to write ads that get reasonable to good CTR's
