Google Adsense for search.... couple questions!

Does anyone here have any experience with Google Adsense for search where Google serves the external results? (Not the on-site search version)

Is this a good way to monitize a website and does it get good results?

Also, are ALL the search results adsense ads or is it still only the results on the right hand side of the SERP page? This is important because if all the results are adsense ads then this will mean a lot more clicks but if its only the results on the right of the page, not so much clicks.

Finally, if I build a site within a high traffic niche and just promote it as a search engine to that niche using Google adsense for search, is this an effective way to use this tool? i.e does this approach tend to work?

I'd really appriciate any help and advice anyone can give me on this.
