Default How many clicks = a test?

I'm running a campaign on 7 search & some days I break even, some days I make $1-$2 & some days I lose $1-$2. So, I feel like this offer will convert here.

I'm only using 1 keyword - after my initial day or two of running the campaign, this was by far the only keyword converting. Maybe if I had left it running longer, but I thought, why not just use 1 keyword?

Anyway - here are my basic stats - plus this is an "earn money with surveys" type of offer so there's about 4-5 fields to submit - I'm direct linking

started the campaign 6 days ago:
Total Clicks: 668
total cost: $83.98
Total Made at Network: $66.70 (I had those first days of running with lots of non-converting keywords)

If I go by the last 4 days:
321 clicks
$37.68 spent
$31.90 made at aff network
ctr: 1-1.5%

When do I know it's time to test a new creative? I feel like it's about now

Also, I know with 7serch - or at least I have heard - that blocking the non-converting traffic is important, but their guidelines recommend getting at least 100 clicks/source you want to block. What do you guys who do this type of thing do?

Thank you for all the help & input!
Ann

Hi mate,

The keyword you're using is fine, just keep it and try to test more keyword, try to make a landing page for it. After 100 clicks or 2x the offer pay out, you will see the result, then remove the keywords that didn't convert. IF you feel that this keyword is best work at evening or morning, just contact 7search's support, they will enable you the day parting software, it will help you to manager your campaign better. Best of luck

Free traffic to simple email submits is the ONLY way to go for the CPA game.
I disagree.

Paid traffic can be effective, if used properly.

Instead of directing the traffic to your offer, direct the traffic to some type of list. Whether that be an Aweber, Contact form, Facebook Fan Page, Twitter account, or anything.

If you can keep people in your circle, you'll be able to market to them a lot easier and more personalized.

Also remember that when you do build traffic to any type of offer, it depends on the traffic.

I'm just going to say that you should ignore FerarriGuy, not because he's wrong, but because he has his owned biased opinion on this and hasn't had as much success in these types of ventures.

I'm doing it with great success and know it works.

Consider that fact that I've built a fanpage that cost me a total of only $6.00 and profited $40.00.

The reason is because I am capturing them on a page, where I can then market to them again and again (of course without spamming) and can build a relationship with them as well.

Good luck on your venture!

Thank you for the advice - this gives me a ballpark to shoot for.
I'll look for time of day also when it seems to work best.

Thanks again!

I appreciate the insight, but would you expound on which free sources you are referring to?

Thank you!

Justin - I agree, paid traffic does work, if you know how to make each particular method work. I really do need to get into the list building - I've always been scared of it - silly, but true.

I can imaging creating one auto-responder, but then it's the "now what?" that gets me.

I appreciate the new way to look at the traffic thought - you're right, it does depend on the traffic.

Thanks again!

You have 1 keyword?

I would be testing a bit more, take the one that's working and find ones similar to it.

Also, what's your maximum spend per keyword?

Of course 7search says buy 100 clicks first, they dont' care about your ROI, their goal is to get as much $$$ out of your pocket as possible.

Yeah, I know that's really low - one keyword - I started with over 600, but they either received very few impressions or did not convert at all.

I figure that 7searach is biased when it comes to the number of recommended clicks before blocking a traffic source, so what do ya'll recommend?
