Default Would this be considered Incentivizing?

If your CPA offer PPC ad reads something like "... To the first person who clicks here."

I know you're not supposed to offer them anything but the initial offer, but is fibbing in this manner to create excitement considered an incentivized offer?

I'm new... Go easy on me.

Sounds like it will clear! Like ChrisBa said, ask your AM to check it out. That way you will have a guaranteed answer!

If that's what the offer itself says, and it's not you saying that, then it's not incentivizing. Many, many campaigns offer a reward if you complete them through to the end. Incentivizing is when you, yourself, offer something to entice people to do the promotions.

No. "To the first person who clicks here" is just basic marketing. Nobody really believes it - but at the same time it shouldn't get you in trouble with your manager.

I don't believe it would be considered incentivizing. As long as you aren't offering anything in addition to what the CPA offer is to potential leads it should be fine.

If it's just literally saying "To the first person that clicks here..." and not something like "To the first person that clicks here.... gets a free ipod/ipad/car/a penny/etc," then I would say it's fine and not really incenting. But again, as people said, ask your AM to be on the safe side.

That copy should be completely fine, obviously check with your AM first, but I don't think you will have any problems.

You are simply engaging with your audience and giving them that little push they need to click through, you are not offering any cash, reward, bonus etc

Let us know how it goes.

Agreed 100% - nothing wrong with just dropping your am a line to confirm

that is really cheesy. you should probably work on your adcopy and write an ad that actually appeals to people.

now whether that would be considered incentivizing, we'd need to know what the rest of the ad says. at the end of the day though, that is blatant lie because "first person who clicks here" is the same as the 2nd and 3rd person who clicks. The #1 Rule in advertising is to be truthful - it's the only real rule, in fact.
