Looking for a quality guide to buying advertising direct from sites rather than going via networks. It is something I am interested in testing, but as yet not tried out.

Anyone know any good guides/blogs/forums/sites that cover this subject? Going to dive in with both feet on Friday (when I finally have some free time), but some bed time reading on the subject might help my avoid many of the current pitfalls.
