Hi everyone, So I think I pretty much understand the theory of quality scores, but I have some odd things happening in several campaigns of mine. I'm promoting a site that sells retail products, direct linking. All of my keywords are either the product names or are closely related. Landing page relevance and user experience are all fine, but keyword relevance is all over the place, anywhere from 2 to 10. Supposedly, low quality scores will make my ad less likely to be displayed, but my highest traffic keywords are generally the ones with the lowest scores. There doesn't seem to be any correlation I can see with the CTR. Some of the most closely related keywords will have vastly different scores too. Like Mickey Mouse Shirt L will have a score of 9, and Mickey Mouse Shirt XL will be down at 2, just as an example. Anybody have any ideas of what's going on, or of things I should try? Thanks |

The other thing is, does it really matter? Seeing how I'm getting more clicks on keywords with lower scores... | |

Most important thing is to get the conversions, If the clicks converts then its fine.

This is what I understand quality scores to be: There are three components to your score: Keyword relevance, Landing page relevance, and Landing page user experience. If there are problems with the second two, you can make changes to your landing page to improve the score. Or, if you are direct linking, you'll probably need to create a landing page to improve the score. I've read that keyword relevance has to do with the click through rate of your ads, but it doesn't seem to hold true with my situation. Like I said earlier in my example, I would think that if my landing page were selling all sizes of mickey mouse t-shirts, "Mickey Mouse Shirt L" and "Mickey Mouse Shirt XL" would score the same... but it seems not to be the case. |
