I have a pretty decently sized automotive news website that is a google news partner - AutomotiveDiscovery.com I get a majority of my traffic from Google News, and am having difficulty increasing my ad revenue. I have a few CJ offers on there, for auto reports, advanced auto parts, etc.. but have had 1,823 clicks through and 0 sales. I use Google Ads to the maximum they are allowed. I was thinking about changing my theme around and making my ads more prominent.. Any suggestions? Thank you very much! |

Maybe you are targeting the wrong audience with your ads? Maybe people are coming to your site "just looking"

sounds like the ads are not being targeted properly. If so, set up a few different advertisements. This way, you're able to know which ads are working for which audience.

Set up split testes to test your ads. Set up different campaigns to different landing pages and find the best ones that convert the highest - then run those and do more split testings and tweaking! It can take some time to get it all in line! Just hang in there and keep at it!!! |

Sounds like your auto offers are too advanced for your traffic. Your type of website is for someone who is more interested in reading, or is finding you because of a specific link. It's unlikely they really need auto parts, or insurance. That is exactly why I would recommend getting a CPA offer, that is EASY to complete such as a ZIP submit, or a quick email submit. We have a publisher who has a huge automotive community, and we have found this method (easier to complete offers) to be much more rewarding! Good luck! |

Why don't you create an eBook about the importance of shopping around for finding the lowest insurance rate, and then innocently link to a insurance quote offer at the end? You could promote the eBook using ExitSplash plugin to get the eBook distributed to all or most of your 30,000 impressions per month. You have to be creative with CPA. Anthony |

Cmon man, have you looked at your page? I don't mean to be rude but you are getting 30,000 impressions and you can't even take the time to match your adsense ads to the color of your page. Your adsense placement is awful as well. If you want to keep this theme then get rid of the link unit at the top of the page. On the right sidebar create an ad unit that is 300x250. Have the ad title color the exact same color as the links on your page. Then make the background and border of the ad the same color as the sidebar so it blends. Now where that link unit used to be, replace it with a 468x80 banner and get rid of that banner thats just floating in the middle of the article. 468x80 banners within content is some of the lowest converting ad placement. Now the ad unit that is at the left of each post, you want to match the colors and turn that bad boy into 336x280. These changes I suggested will triple your ad revenue guaranteed. I would suggest though if you really want to up your revenue, go for a theme with 2 sidebars. Use the left sidebar for a 160x600 skyscraper and use a 336x280 wrapped block within the content. There is so much un-utilized earning potential going on on this page its killing me! Please at the very least match your ads to blend with your page. |
