Although blatantly illegal I've always been curious. They make people complete a survey before downloading the illegal software. So I'd imagine these incentivized types of strategies have very high conversions. The people want the software but can't afford it, if all they have to do is answer a few questions, wouldn't you think most people would do it? Equaling high conversions? I am a newbie and am asking I don't have a clue really. Or am I wrong? Now reason I ask is NO I do NOT plan on marketing like this and think its demeaning to the whole industry. But I feel like I can definitely make it work in my case. I produce professional music projects that can be downloaded in a file through various music sequencers (Fl Studio, Albeton, Cubase). I can make music good enough to attract thousands (previous videos have avg around 25,000). Though definitely not millions I'm not that good. My curiosity is about offering the sequencer download file (ie. FLP) as an incentive to fill out say an ipad offer. I would think if I could get thousands of views (which like I say I've gotten previously on another youtube account thats nonmonetized) that it would be a high conversion? Lots of people like to learn how to make music I think this might be a good way to monetize some offers? What are the thoughts from more experiences marketers on this? Thanks! |

I am sure they are making money from it. But look the people are filling out the cpa because they want to get the software for free. They do not like to answer the questions, but they do it because it is needed to get the software. It must be something worthwhile for them to make them fill it out.

hi, of course you can try it. even try iphone offers and surveys and look which converts better. but in your case (if you create content which gets a lot of views and people realy like it) I would make list. send people to your squeeze page and after they opt-in give them download link. then make relationship, give them more free content. and then you can send them cpa/affiliate offers or even sell your own products. i think you have here great, long term, oportunity. paulius |

Yes, these guys make a lot of money. I used to do something similar during my old blackhat days, but that's a thing of the past.

In the years 2011-2012, Online Marketing is 70% all hype/vision. If you can make it simple and professional, you'll make money from anything! I know because I do it....

I'm sure they make lots of quick money but the traffic they're sending the offer is crap and I'm sure they'll get booted sooner or later.
