Default Results after my FIRST Facebook PPC campaign for affiliate marketing. Any Advice/Tricks?

Damn, that was easy. First time implementing this and received 2 sales! I used a free $50 ad credit and made $43! I was hoping to break even but good enough for the first time...

I noticed that what I promoted didn't convert so well.. 2 sales out of 180 clicks.
(it was like a CPA make money intangible offer)

I got a CTR of 0.15%-0.2% (which, I heard, is considered "good" for FB ads)

Any advice to getting more conversions using FB PPC? Any suggestions on better products to promote via FB Ads? How much money is optimal for a better campaign with lots of ad variations? (I feel like $50 is too small of a campaign)

I have also heard FB doesn't convert well and has ad approval problems... However I had no problems with ad approval whatsoever and I like the FB Advertising platform. Should I pursue another platform for better conversions? or focus on FB since I'm comfortable with it?

Also - any must-have WSOs I should look into?

Thoughts, Warriors?

If you got 175 clicks and only 2 conversions, there is probably something wrong with the campaign. I would try a campaign that converts better.

You should talk to your affiliate rep and see which campaigns convert better from FaceBook.

I don't have an affiliate rep, I'm using clickbank myself.

Do you pay for your add per click or per impressions. I find that when starting a new campaign it is cheaper to start with per impressions and have about 5 different ads. This will work out cheaper initially and you can also see what ads convert best.

I use CPC. I've heard FB prefer CPC ads over CPM (not too sure though)..

but CPM is usually more expensive generally speaking but yes it probably could be more cheaper to do CPM initially (temporarily) when you launch the campaign

I ran 2 ads, got a decent exposure, and got a decent CTR for both

Maybe I should promote something else that converts better

Great Job - you should sign up to cap networks - they tend to have a much diverse selection of offers instead of CB offers.

If you're doing CPC ads, I suggest you start low (maybe towards the bottom of the suggest bid, or even less).

If you start high, then you would need to decrease your bids, you will stunt the amount of impressions your ads will get.

The easiest way to see if your ads are doing good is to see their CTR. Wait for at least 7500 impressions to determine whether the ad is successful or not. If your ad has below .08, delete it or pause it. If you leave bad ads running, it will damage your entire campaign and you will quickly lose ROI.

Personally, i myself recommend you check out Neverblue, EWANetwork, PeerFly, Convert2Media, Adsimilis, CPATank and Ndemand Affiliates. All are good networks with good reputations.

Were you direct linking to the offer? A 0.15 - 0.2% CTR is pretty good.

So it's better to start low and keep a steady bid? I tried bidding high over the suggested bid to get a "kick start" for exposure and lowering it to a steady bid

Thanks for the suggestions - I will definitely check those out. How do these compare with ClickBank?

Yes I was, I felt that this way is faster but I am aware that you have to target extremely well for proper conversions (I'm kind of lazy to make my own landing pages... honestly speaking).. But I'm willing to go that route if it means better conversions. Your thoughts?

Great start. Now you just need to optimize your campaign a little bit. Remember, high CTR = low CPC

Share some ideas on how to "optimize"

More ad variations (w/ compelling images) and a bigger overall campaign budget (while closing the ads that don't do well) ??

Yes, it's the right approach.
