Question about browser referals

How far do they go back?

If you get a lead off CL for example and take that person to email. Then email them a link (which is your landing page) to their yahoo mail or w/e. Then they go from that email to your landing page, then to the offer.

I'm curious how a browser referall would show?
If you are sending the link to their email, wouldn't it just look like an email lead? Can someone clear this up for me. Is there even a need for DMR's in that situation?
