In my opinion, most of the Facebook WSO's that teach you how to really target the ads on Facebook are probably good. To succeed at Facebook advertising really requires a lot of testing/split testing with pictures and headlines to see what captures attention. Then you also need a great landing page to send people to as well if you are going to make sales.

I was thinking of driving traffic with ads, straight to the cpa offer. Then in the future I would create landing pages to pre sell, but only after I become confident with placing ads

getting offers profitable on facebook (or any traffic source generally) you will lose money in testing before an offer becomes profitable. And you will have to test 5-10+ offers sometimes to get 1 profitable. Its not hard, but need to be willing to do a lot of testing and lose money. Most people aren't willing to do that unfortunately.

I have no problem investing 500 to 1000 if it will eventually become profitable. With the testing side of it, I heard there were programs that automate most of the ad creation, then you just manually delete the ones that arnt profitable ect. Is this all true or am I missing something that might not make this as easy as I think?

I created different angles and tried to promote dating, gaming and freebie offers. there is also a very big issue of acceptance of ads which is enough to get frustrate.
