Over the past few days I started my first campaign. As I thought, it didn't turn out too well. But I think I've learned alot about how facebook ads work. I started out making 6 ads and direct linking them though dot.tk domains to a gaming offer from peerfly. I used two different text copys and 6 different images for 6 different demographics, all of different age groups, with the same related interests. 3 of the ads, all with the same text, we're instantly approved so I started running them. The other 3 took 24 hours to approve. After 24 hours I was surprised that the older age group was getting the highest CTR, but was still under 0.04%, which I hear is bad. After 48hour and 80$ later, I had only 8 conversions at $1.20 each and an overall CTR of 0.05% so I decided to stop the whole campaign. It probably would of been alright with a lower CPC, but with CTR like that, I didn't see it getting much lower. Now I would like to try the same offer again but with using a Facebook ad manager like 'social ad tools'. This time I would try and make 100+ ads for all separate ages and demographics. What are your opinions on this, am I going the right way about it? Or can you give me suggestions or tips? |

You said 6 different Image for 6 different DEMO???? That means 1 image per DEMO. That is FAIL from the start. How do you expect to find a best CTR images if you are not split testing the images to find which image getting the best CTR. Your plan is wrong. You can start slow and ramp thing up slowly. Here how i do some of my campaign. Example - offer, Game, >>Demo , 20 to 50 ,>> Male or Female I will set it up like this below 2 Ad copy>> 6 Image >> 2 campaign to split Demo ( Age ) 12 Ads in Total Each Campaign. Set up Daily budget $20 oe $30 each.. Track which image getting good Ctr, which Ad Copy, which Demo. Stop the bad image and upload new images. Run Another Test ( both campaign ) Now check stat's for conversion. Check which demo perform better. If it was demo 20-35 ! I will split that to 2 more campaign and run those winning image and also upload fresh image. Slowly you will dig down to best performing age, image, ad copy etc and start making Solid profit. Make sure you keep uploading fresh image to control the Best CTR to keep the cost down and Always Always Always Track your result. Rotate offer to see what's converting best. There you go, i just told you Briefly how to do mine. Trust me that's like 40% off what i do. I am testing freak Lol. Hope this is helpful buddy All the best. take right action and make money

Sorry I meant I was running 1 campaign, 6 ads with 6 images. So yeah, 1 image per demo. I'm just following a wso I bought, maybe I'm interpreting in wrong lol. sorry if my posts don't make sense, I'm writing it on my smart phone so it's a bit hard to format. :-) |

I would never try 1 image for any demo. That's just plain and stupid. You need several images to test. Facebook ads 80% about the image. If you don't test the main aspect then how you meant to pull traffic and get cheap clicks.

@aminur You hit the nail right on the head. Be easy on poor BrendonTracey. You live and learn. Not stupidity, just a rookie mistake. That is why the question was asked |

Yeah, as mentioned previously, you should've used those 6 images on just 1 demographics first. Also, test small. If you're not getting a good CTR after about 10,000 impressions for an ad, pause it and make another ad. Be careful promoting email submits. Facebook is starting to really hate them and will ban you... even if they approved it in the beginning. Ask me how I know |

Use more images. I'd say 2 ad copies with 5 images. Also make sure the offer you're promoting fits with the demographic that you're planning on marketing too. It's important to market towards the demographic. The ads should be tailor made for them. Don't forget to Test, Test, & Test. With these campaigns testing is the key. It's the only way you'll learn what's working vs what isn't. If you don't have a lot of money try non US traffic. It's cheaper. Just make sure that your offer allows foreign traffic. Pay attention to other's ads on Facebook. If you see one reoccurring study it. If it's been on there a while it's working. Figure out why. |

Hi aminur When you said "Set up Daily budget $20 oe $30 each" did you mean $20 per ad, or $20 per campaign? Also how quickly would you recommend stopping a bad image ad? After one day of clicks? Thanks for the advice! |

Hey, $20 for Each campaign. You need to give the images Minimum 1k impression to see if you get any clicks. If you get 1 clicks then let it run for another 1k impression. i personally let $20 finish to see the result because in many cases is had images getting no clicks for 2k impression but later they end up having best CTR out of all because when people see the same images over and over, they start reacting and start clicks. As i said it's very important to do as many testing as possible to see what works out for you.

I'm testing my new campaign and for 1 demo, I've got about 7 out of 8 images with CTR higher than 0.3%. Am I reading into this wrong, or have I just been really lucky?

Just had another look, for demo 18-24, 6 ads 0.2%+, 1 ad is 0.3%+ and 1 is under 0.1% CTR. I've also got the problem with other demos where 1 ad is doing fine, but the other 7 have under 200 impressions. Should I just delete the ones that arnt moving?

It's good your taking action but you gotta do alot split test. Like me i made a fanpage with 70 dollars and got lots fans. And with those fans I was able to generate $300 from $70 i wasted advertising. For me facebook It's a piece of cake. |

When you say split test, do you mean show the same ad too different demos? That's what I've been doing, but getting mixed results, because facebook does't seem to want to give any impressions to some of the other adds.

2 questions since i am new at this: Why are you routing it via a dot tk domain if you are direct linking? Do 1.30 dollar offers work on fb or are the cpc too high? |

In my new campaign i'm use a .com domain that I bought , only because Facebook doesn't like affiliate links. Im yet to find out if my $1.45 offer works. I think you just need to get the CPC down as low as posible, like something under $0.15. Someone correct me if i'm wrong |

I must of missed that, I will try that for my next campaign. At the moment I'm getting clicks between 0.05 to 0.10, my Roi is rising finally. I think It will be positive by the end of the day.
