Is there a time limit when things become outdated?

I love that phrase.

I personally think that people use outdated in one of two cases:
  1. They want others to confirm that something "doesn't work anymore" so they don't take the time to actually do it and prove it. It's just an excuse to not try something.
  2. It's a competitor trying to bash a site that has been around for several YEARS longer then their own.

Stuff doesn't get outdated.

Rules change, traffic sources change but the basics of the method remain. You may have to "adjust" slightly to today's climate but I can assure you everything in Kensters course works as well today as it did the day he wrote it.

Just my 2 cents.

I couldn't agree more.

The most important techniques have been the same for a long time... Ok, you may eventually find a new traffic source, but the way you're gonna make money with it is the same way you're making money with the old ones... and if you're not making money with the old ones, you're not gonna make money with the new one either.

So keep in mind that this industry is dynamic because offers come and go, payouts change, CPCs increase, etc... but the core concepts, the marketing aspects remain the same.
