Tonight I am going to make a flyer promoting an offer, my goal is to have a dense amount vs a low but high quality amount (meaning I want hundreds of flyers) I don't have a printer and I would need to print them at the local library at 10 cents a copy in Black and white. Just to get some insight what do you think about black and white offers? On a side note, which offers are best to promote via flyers? Email submit, or products for commission. Now I know commission would be better because if I can get 2% conversion for $15, all I would need to do is hand out 100 flyers for $30 vs having a 30% conversion for email submit per 100. I just want your opinion, now obviously I would diversify my ads, but in your experiences what style ads are best, and what converts well in the flyer style? |

Black & White flyers certainly do convert! In fact often times they convert better than flashy/colored flyers. It largely depends on your target audience and where your posting them. If you want to be certain, you can split test different flyer designs changing the wording, layout, color schemes, etc. I can tell you that basic tear-off flyers on bright yellow paper has worked well. Make sure you are choosing an offer to match the market as best as possible - this can make or break your campaign! |

I believe this will work, as long you have a "killer" type call to action message that really catches the attention of your. targeted prospects. This is actually better than those colored ads with images.

The logic is not an issue, logic can be universal, you an I can see eye to eye on how a campaign works, but our personal experiences might be different. Now because I ask this it's not because I am a skeptic to the idea (as a matter of fact im itching to go out and get these flyers out there) there are just variables, I need to have access to a printer (which I will tomorrow) I need to make sure I have money for gas because the capitol of IL is 25 miles from me and I want to promote there. All these variables will fall into place come friday, so my goal is to capture as much insight before then. So while I am in the preparation phase I want to hear field studies, so I can keep these in mind. SO where have you guys handed out flyers? I envision myself doing a variety of tactics, 1. handing out email submits person to person at a mall for example. then on the same day 2. going to a gym, or related business to my ad and asking the manager if I can leave the flyers there. 3. an idea I feel real lucrative (might be illegal) putting ads door to door in mailboxes (if illegal) then on doorstep or something related. 4. outsourcing to a college friend to put on students desks. ^ Please correct me or add to my ideas above, list what you have tried and your experiences. I look at this as a fun thing, an opportunity to communicate with people. Listing to you guys talk tactics is VERY fun, but I mean handing out flyers, possibly chatting up a few sexy ladies and just being social and having an idea i am sure no one in that town has seen before. (oh the powers of globalization and the WWW, I love the information era | |

I would also apply the 3 second rule to the fly design. If you can't understand what it's about and see the call to action in 3 seconds then it's not going to convert people. The same principle applies to PowerPoint slides and just about every visual medium. Great design trumps everything, even color printing.

I suggest promoting email and zip submits if all you're planning to do is put up flyer's but if you want to take it a step further send leads to a landing page first to collect their emails and then warm em up with a nice presell to whatever product you want to promote. That way, you'd increase your chances of making a sale with a higher priced offer and if they decide not to purchase, you can still promote to them in the future since you got their email. Ashton |

Those are great distribution strategies. I don't think a door-to-door approach is illegal. Simply leave the flyers on the doorstep. Door hanger marketers have been doing that for ages.
