If you have WIFI, and the wifi is connected, (wifi router I believe) I think you have to have wifi card in the laptop. Then you just connect boom ............I am no expert though

I'm no expert at this but i do know thing or two and like outwest said you need Wifi router and Wifi card or Wifi usb in your laptop and you will be able to connect with both computers at the same time. You will not be able to connect with LAN Cable since you need to route IP Addresses. Sasa Ilic |

Why not wifi?Okay, if you want to connect internet by lan, there is no big deal. First you need to install laptop network card drivers. Secondly u need put LAN cable to modem and then to PC. simply enough, wait for connection and you are ready to go. But remember one thing, if your IP is static not dynamic u will need connect manually to internet. So if you not work when you put LAN cable to pc and modem automatically , you should do this things: 1) Get your IP address, subnet mask, default gateway, dns servers from your Internet provider. 2) go to Control Panel -> Network and Internet -> Network Connections 3) click on your lan card properties and then go to Internet Protocol Version 4 properties. 4) click properties ( First try to obtain your ip and dns servers automatically if everything fine ur net should work - many internet providers not need manual installation right now.) 5) If u have details ready just enter details and click ok. And ur net should work now. P.S. If its your first time when u setuping modem - just enter all your details when you installing modem drivers to PC. Or if you are using modem first time with installed modem but with no details on it, you should go to 192.168.1.1 enter ur ID/psw ( should see it on modem ) and enter required details. Required details could be your landline phone number, agreement number and etc, so i can't tell you where u cant find it, just fallow modem instructions and ur net will be up! | |
