I know a girl who buys for Lowe's. She says you have to take and pass all Adwords courses and get certified and they re test you all the time. I guess they want the best of the best.

That's more info than I desire but everyone needs to buy Google Ads because they are running the show.

Not really buddy, many people have been doing just fine without using Google whatsoever. And by that I mean PPC, SEO, or Adsense.

They are not the only game in town.

Yep, I know many people that spend decent money on other companies, google is just the leader on its niche.
