Default Product images in ads?

I read in another thread that you should hunt for and test different product images for ads that require images. My only concern is copyright.

Say I was promoting an Iphone offer, is it ok to feature an image of an Iphone? I'm a little lost on the copyright issues involved with this.

Need a website or custom web application? Want to develop the next big thing?

From my experience in CPA ads advertising, I've never heard someone, even in direct linking ads, being sued or stopped for copyright reasons.

Many Guru's in the field are suggesting to download and use any images from the Google photo section.

Of coarse I would suggest to use generic photo content like an Iphone or any phone, an unknown face or person (not a celebrity), the image of a credit card, etc. I wouldn't use a nice, popular and sophisticated ad made by a known Corporation where they paid a professional big bucks to make it.

Hope this help.

David

I dont think you will have any copyright problem because I often used product image in my ad copy. And it converts well too

Be careful with that one, as a model release form is often required for those. They are 'extras' who paid an agency to appear in ads and their agency could get stroppy about their image being used when the agency themselves aren't getting paid. The ad creator (such as iPhone etc.) will already have paid for the use of the image but that does not mean an affiliate of theirs can.

You should be ok with pictures of the products themselves as you are obviously helping them sell the product.

I will be doing a dime sale or free WSO in the next week or two that will make using images free for commercial use and where to get them, so keep an aye out.

I just have to figure out how to approach the WSO as I haven't done one before and I have two in mind to launch. Both are good but I kinda want to do a free or very cheap one just to get the practice...
