Yes I have advice.

First thing you should ask yourself is "why did ken name his guide 'rags2riches" instead of something more accurate/representative of reality like 'cpa marketing for newbies'?

The answer you may find is a little 4 letter word called "hype".

Another question you can ask yourself revolves around altruistic behavoirs.

Why would someone take so much time to compile a comprehensive guide, and take their efforts away from the one thing they're claiming is going to make you money?

Youtube marketing/flyers/craigslist/forum marketing, sure you can make money. But just not in the way 99% of newbies think they can.

In fact if you could really see the statistics I'd bet they'd say something like this.

Less than 1% of people who read the guide probably ever made any real money.
99% probably wasted 10,000 hours posting random videos on youtube, making random fliers, doing random uncalibrated newbie things (which is really what the book is about its totally nonspecific imo) and the reality is high that more people wasted money after reading his book than vice versa.

Because that time could have been spent doing something they actually know how to make money with (job, etc) instead of wasting countless hours trying to make the transition from rags2riches.

Heres more advice. A lot of the "motivation" you see in this forum is mere hype.
People don't like boring rational people like me.

But what motivates me the most is learning about people who fail. Seeing people have a difficult time. I LOVE reading that stuff because it tells me DIRECTLY what I need to NOT do to make money. Negative stories of failure save me more time than stories of success ever would.

You will also see tons of random people posting checks from CPA networks on here. Again, be careful into believing a single one of them are real.

My best advice is as follows.
Find one thing you are interested in. Dedicate yourself 100% to it. Learn what everyone is doing in that field. What makes them fail, what makes them succeed.

After that break outside the box of normal thinking.
Take things they did, make your goal figuring out how to make it 1000 times better. Its good to set small realistic goals, but its better to not have to do that at all.

People who set small realistic goals are people who can't think for themselves (again just my opinion) although it IS still excellent advice as the reality just is most people can't think for themselves. Always looking outside of themselves for the million dollar making plan. All awhile creating the subsoncious frame of inferiority. If you're always looking for some magic plan, you're going to convince yourself you're too damn stupid to ever figure it out on your own.
And honestly a lot of people want that, so they'll try to sell you magic plans all day long.

See what the majority of people do and then do the total opposite. Do everything assbackwards. Break rules. Don't just think outside the box, **** in the box, pour some gasoline all over it, and ignite that mfkr to hell and back.

Ok I think you get the point. But honestly I came onto this forum and was very quickly ready to buy into all the CPA hype *thinking its what I needed*. But I tend to always question everything I do, and things people do. I'm a weird person. I look for the things noone else if even talking about. If your guide is easy to find, and you're promoting the hell out of it, I DO NOT WANT TO READ IT. I want the guide on page 104 of google when I search for "how to make money in affiliate marketing", anything on page 1 I know is guaranteed to be a scam. Adopt this thinking, it will help cause it helped me. I found some VERY good guides way back in the pages that I will NEVER mention a word about on this forum. They were never promoted, they were actually hidden from the masses on purpose. I like rare, unique, esoteric, SPECIFIC ideas.

Be relentlessly calibrated and specific. Don't just post random videos on youtube its an absolute guaranteed recipe for failure. I think its also recommended in the guide. Have a plan, don't use it till you understand WHY and HOW it will actually work.

If you become the exception, you can live like the exception. Thats my rule and its worked quite well for me up untill this point. And finally, realize a lot of the guys you may look up too probably make less than you, and live ****tier lives as well. Internet is a great place to pretend like you're something your not. Be true to yourself, and true to your art, and don't waste a lot of time doing stupid **** that you know instinctively is not going to work.

Thats about all I can really say.

ps. it should have been implied in the post but just realize theres thousands of other ways to make money aside from CPA too. Just to water down your motivation a bit. Too much motivation can quickly become an ugly thing encase you didn't know. And I see tons of newbies coming to this forum thinking they're gonna make it big and leaving with their tail between their legs and their head down. You overcome that scenario by becoming the exception like I said.

pss. and I should also say you will see the theme "work hard" a lot on here but its more about working smart than it ever is about working hard. In fact, if you're working too hard, chance are cause you're doing it the wrong way in the first place.

Now I'm really done - Red

Interesting post about CPA. I've tried it and wondered about who actually benefited from CPA offers.

I obviously got my $1.50, $3.00 and sometimes even $25 and above on different offers. The problem I have is that once you get a lead, that is the end of it. The Networks actually benefit from that lead as they will bombard the poor sods with thousands of other offers. They are the ones building a huge list which will generate income for them in years to come. So the price of our lead is in no way comparable with what the Networks will make.

I'm now thinking of moving away from CPA and want to build my own list. By adding value to the list, I will have loyal subscribers for years to come.

Just my thought.

So why not build a list yourself and simply use CPA offers to monetise, nothing is stopping you from capturing the lead before sending it on, conversion might slip but lifetime value of the lead will increase massively.

@ Red Shift. I really think it is kinda funny that you are blasting someone that you really don't know how they are making their money. I don't really know Kenster, but from reading multiple threads in the WF it appears that there are more than one person who backs his knowledge and strategies in the CPA niche.

CPA is not a get rich quick scheme, that may only work for a short while. You must approach it like a real business if you want to have any longevity and that goes for anything to do with online marketing.

This is where I see a lot of people make the mistake.

My honest opinion is that you should really think twice about bashing people in any respect given the fact that you just joined the WF in December 2011 and already have 142 posts in one month.

Just from observation I can see where and how you are spending all of your time and not doing the things you are advising someone else to do. Which may also reflects your success and income with internet marketing, as well.

Yes, being creative and thinking outside of the box is required in business, but proven business models and experience is always the better option, which is why the franchise business model works so well.

Just my thoughts

Now back to work!

I honestly would not recommend buying that many WSOs about CPA. Instead of wasting your time on reading a lot about different methods, take action on the ones that you know about. Taking action is the most important and I feel that less people take action when they get distracted by reading so many different WSOs.

I never bought a WSO yet I still make money with CPA.
And whenever I have a question I search for it or just make a thread and ask and always get an answer.

There is no "secret" that many of these WSOs claim there are, although since I never bought one, I can not 100% give you my word on this, but for the most part this is true. Every single method can be found for free on this very forum.

The actual "secret" is focus. Stop getting distracted and jumping to the next big thing. Focus on one method that you read on here and stick with it and you will get results.

Also if you are using paid traffic then it is all about testing. So test, test, test and focus, focus, focus for the money to roll in.

Don't want to be self-promotional, but my free WSO describes a good free way to start making money with CPA and other methods pretty quickly!

All in all, you can do forum posting, blog commenting, Yahoo answers, Craiglist, SEO, Youtube marketing or video marketing in general, Twitter, Facebook, classified ads... Just some ideas for free traffic generation methods.
