When you're profitable you know you're doing good. Keep split testing till you get the highest CTR while maintaining a high conversion rate. CTR is important but only when looking at the bigger picture and the rest of the stats together. Most of my winners on POF are around .1% to .5% CTR, but that's not what I look at. And as I optimize my CTR gets higher and higher FYI. Aniket -- A good CTR varies on each traffic source. For example on Pulse traffic a CTR of .05% is pretty good. Small site buys I expect way higher, and so on... |

on POF you should aim for 0.15%, but basically everything that makes a profit is good in the end |

Generally speaking you want at least 0.1% CTR. However, like others have mentioned the only thing you care about at the end of the day is profit. So, you should use ROI to gauge whether or not your ad is a good ad EVENTUALLY. In the beginning, you might want to cut ads with low CTR's because CHANCES ARE they will probably perform worse than those with high CTR's. To really determine whether an ad is likely a long term performer, you need at least 10,000 impressions IMO. The more data you have, the more significant your ROI is. Hope that makes sense. -Tom |
