Hey all,

What does incentive traffic mean?

And also, what is a decent EPC?

Thanks

Hi Pete,

Generally speaking it means you can incentivise the traffic sent to an offer.

For example:

Fill in 5 CPA offers and I'll give you an IPOD.

That's incentivized traffic.

Ah right on.

Thanks.

Do you know what is a good EPC? I mean, which is the minimum EPC you should look for when promoting a product, or does it not really matter?

It depends on the product. Say you are promoting something that pays out $0.50 rather than $50.00

Earns per Click is calculated this way:

Conversion Earnings / Amount of clicks = Earnings per Click

It basically means that, if, for example, your EPC is USD$0.5, for your campaign to break even (no loss, no profit), you have to pay USD$0.5 per click.
If you payed anything below that amount per click, you would be making profit

Exactly

It can also be a measure for your convertion rates. Let's say for example that your offer is worth USD$20, and from 1 click you generated 1 lead: EPC= $20, Conversion Rate 100%

Or, 25 Clicks, 3 Leads: EPC = 60$/25 = $2,4
So you can estimate a conversion rate of approx. 10% just by seeing that number

EPC is just an average that tells you what amount of money you would have made per click, if all you're clicks had converted

Is there still good money to be made with incentivised offers?

i.e building a solid site with dozens of offers for customers to fill out in exchange for ....whatever you think off?

Or are they dying out?

The higher the EPC the better because it gives you more room for spending money on getting traffic there and still being profitable.

That said, don't write off campaigns with lower EPC's, they may actually be more profitable.

Say you're getting an EPC of $0.10, it's small, but if you're only spending $0.01 on every click, that's a 900% return on your investment (ROI).

Hi,

This info is very useful for me. Thank you !

I have been wondering the meaning of incentivize and some people were just using the short " incent ". I've checked dictionaries but it doesn't make sense.

You guys put the word into context.

So if someone filled-up a form on my site or join my Mailing List , he gets a free gift from me. This is incentivize, right?

I hope I'm correct.

Yes.. you can offer him anything you like, including cash for completing the offers, that is hard incent and you must verify it before you do that if that offers allows cash incent

Most of incentive offer paid out is very low for some reason. Rocketprofit is a good network that had lots of incentive offer

I've been involved with incentive affiliate marketing for almost 5 years now. I'll give you a more detailed explanation in a minute but, in a nutshell, incentive means that someone will receive something in return for completing an offer, if the information provided in the offer is accepted by the advertiser. That incentive could be in the form of points or cash or gift cards or gifts or virtual currency. There's also a 'new' incentive called content locking. A person will be permitted to continue further on the site they're on if they complete an offer. The incentive is being allowed to see the content on the site.

There are various types of incentive offers that are basically the same as other offers - email submits, zip submits, surveys, trial offers, etc., but they generally pay a lot less than non-incentive offers.

There are different types of sites that can offer incentives. Social networking sites and games sites offer virtual currency as an incentive for completing offers. The virtual currency can be used to 'purchase' whatever virtual items are available that pertain to the game or the site.

The type of incentive site that I'm most familiar with is the GPT site - Get Paid To. With GPT sites you sign up to become a member, totally free, and for every credited offer you receive a specific number of points or an amount of cash. Based on the site's requirements, you can cash out your cash when you've reached minimum cash-out ($1, $5, $10, etc.,), and receive your payment however you choose based on the options the site makes available. With points, you can convert them to cash sometimes or use the points to 'buy' gift cards or other items available for 'purchase'.

I started working on GPT incentive sites, as a member of various sites, about 5 years ago to make extra money. After doing that for a while, I decided that I wanted to have a bigger piece of the pie, so to speak, and I opened my own GPT site, Bowling for Cash, and that was over 4 years ago. Up until 2 years ago I was working full-time so that was just a part-time venture. Two years ago I got laid off and decided that I didn't want to ever be employed by anybody again so that I could control my own fate, so I decided to start an affiliate network and I opened Campaign Creatives about a year and a half ago. They say to go with what you know, and I know the incentive side of affiliate marketing because I started from the bottom as a member and worked my way up, so that's the area on which I've been focused.

A lot of advertisers and networks look down on incentive sites, and there were quite a few times when I thought incentive offers would go away forever. But........the incentive market can be very lucrative because those people would never be reached without the incentive. They would never, ever complete an offer on a website without getting something for doing it.

So that's pretty much the explanation of how incentives work in affiliate marketing. Hope that helps!

Hi,

Could you tell me a little clearly about that campaign?

I'm not sure I understand your question, Jacky. Do you want to open a GPT (Get Paid To) incentive site where members join and complete surveys or register for newsletters or fill out email submit offers, etc.?

Hi badboy,
Thanks for your input, that helps me pass on it for now anyway.
Appreciate your getting right to the meat of the matter as to how
the merchants tend to look at it.
