Which method is the best to start for a newbie?

Hi everyone,

I'm accepted by affiliate.com yesterday. I placed two banner ads on my blog as a start. I'm running facebook ads for my blog. The result is for both offers, there are 2045 impressions, 2 clicks and no leads.

Well, I know this shouldn't be my ultimate method, but I can't decide where to start. I read that direct link is not allowed by adwords and facebook. And as far as I learnt by reading this forum, the most common methods are building landing pages or websites, then buying traffic. I have around $250 for advertising as a beginning. What do you recommend? Any help is much appreciated!

Well it depends on what you are promoting my friend. Facebook do allow direct link but not for any spam offers such as email submits and other free offers. You can direct link to games, dating etc offers with out any problem. As of blog you said you uploaded 2 banners so if you are promoting your blog then you can not expect to get many clicks on your banners right away from paid traffic . The visitors may leave quick or just read the content with out clicking any banners.

You can still direct link on most 2nd tier ad networks like 7 search. Try getting your feet wet by setting up a and testing couple different email and zip submit offers with them.

If you're driving traffic from Facebook to your blog I would suggest you build an email list with that and then promote to your subscribers. If you want to direct link to an offer I would try Plenty of Fish first as they're more lax in their ad guidelines.

Just to start - how much traffic does your blog get? And what niche? Do you know your demographics?

It is a food blog getting around 6000 visitors per day. But I've understood that it isn't a good platform to promote offers if I want to earn good money from CPA. So I think builing a landing page is a good solution for me. Just need to learn how I can get quality traffic to my landing pages.

I hate to say this but you can burn your money fast on FaceBook ads. Listen to Chris and make sure you test and track your spend. Good luck!

Build a landing page with an opt-in form to build your list - maybe offer some free recipe report as a sweetener. If you really want to get visitors from Facebook then firstly join as many active food groups with 1000+ as you can. With the right social media tool you can broadcast to all of these at once (don't spam friends - just groups are better - you can add friends from those who display a positive response to your posts) - dont overdo it just a few of posts a day. This will drive traffic to your site. Install a facebook like box plug-in into your blog and a facebook comments box and develop a facebook fan page. You can now develop a relationship with all the food groupies. Just a start but it will start to drive traffic....

I agree with you. There is also a Facebook plugin for CPA where you allow your fans to answer a few questions and if they got it right, they will got something free from you and you can give them another chance if they got it wrong. It's fun!

Build a list.

Put up a squeeze page (some also call this a landing page).

Get free traffic with article syndication on really good sites like qondio.com and ideamarketers.com.

Make some short videos and post on youtube using free animoto acct.

Post on high volume forums related to your niche.

yes...as stated above get the squeeze page up and start list building.

You can get free traffic from youtube, seo work, forum posts, article writing, etc. Plenty of good stuff on this forum on how to get traffic. Just use the search button on warrior forum and you'll find what you need.
