Hey Everyone, I have a great traffic source that is working really well and I do not want the networks to find out about it and become my competition. SO, I need to know exactly who to do a double meta refresh that will NOT pass the referrer to the networks and all that kind of stuff. What is the easiest way to do this? I would LIKE to be able to do it with domains, that way I do not need to have a web page with code on it for the redirect... Like - Domain 1 ----> domain 2--- CPA offer, BUT I do not know if this really works or if there is a right way to do it. I really need help here, Please and thank you thank you thank you! |

Don't bother with a double meta... you can lose the tracking along the way. Sure, you'll hide the source, but you may as well hand the network a razor and ask the to start shaving you, because the dropped sales will be the same thing. Send your traffic through something like Tracking202. Most networks don't have issues seeing that as the referrer, and it also warns them that you're not a total n00b that's got no idea how to keep track of your sales. |

Yes. Referrer contains the last website URL from which the ad or link was clicked. If your link is on site 1 and you wanted CPA network to see the traffic as coming in from site 2, you would want to forward/redirect from site 1 to site 2 and onto CPA offer. This way CPA will see traffic as coming from site 2 and not site 1. Harvey has a very valid point on being careful about losing the tracking. You can use Tracking202 (service) or Prosper202 (self-hosted) for free. Both will cloak your data from the affiliate networks and track your conversions. With Prosper202 the referrer will be your domain, since you will host it on your server. If you want to use a landing page you'll get landing page CTR as well. There is a bunch of other benefits and features too. Pretty good software for free and they work well. The support is good too. If you have any questions just ask. ![]() Derek | |
