Default CPA Health Ads DEAD on Facebook

Seems facebook completely cut down on publishers trying to advertise CPA offers that lead to health offers or any offer that enrolls a customer into a recurring billing practice.

I have placed hundreds of ads on facebook, but this month I continually tried to place a specific CPA ad from Advaliant (also found in several other networks). The ad got rejected over and over. I tried several formats thinking that I might have messed up something in the ad, but I knew that couldn't be because I have a lot of experience with FB advertising.

...So I contacted their support and then I got the shocker:

Quote:
Hi Reinhardt,

This ad does not comply with our requirements for subscription services and products or services with recurring billing. These guidelines were recently updated in response to user feedback about these kinds of ads.

As part of our ongoing effort to connect users to content they're interested in, we constantly work to show users the ads that are most relevant to them. Ad quality and user feedback have always been important considerations for Facebook Ads, and help determine what ads are actually seen by users. In general, ads that receive negative user feedback are less likely to be shown to users, and may not even run at all. Users have given us negative feedback about deceptive recurring billing practices. We're taking those claims very seriously and are taking care not to accept ads that may feature such practices in the Facebook Ads system. We're also working to expose more information to advertisers about user feedback and the quality of their ads.

Share your experiences or thoughts (IF you have advertised on facebook that is).

Regards,
Reinhardt

Does that include National Geographic or New York Times?

Just sayin'.

You mean their subscription plans? That's a good question.
Facebook reviews the offers themselves. Anything CPA they easily ban.
New York times or National Geographic is far more authoritative.

Told you promoting those Acai berry products wasn't going to be a lasting business.

Only on Facebook Melkor. MySpace, blog networks etc still provide a massive ROI.
I moved away from Acai though.

Mmm - it's better to promote stuff that lets you sleep at night and doesn't have the risk of the FTC or the FBI gettin' all up in your business over the practices of the merchant, eh?

I am going to do some heavy twitter and facebook relationship building and branding but I will be sending them to my site and not direct to an offer. That will come later.

You realise the issue here is the deceptive nature of the rebilling?
As in that the costs are usually hidden below the fold, and written as words (i.e. forty-eight ninety-five) so people's brains don't tweak when scanning the text because they're looking for a $ symbol, or the fact that the "free" trial only remains free so long as you can unsubscribe in 72 hours, and that's impossible when there's literally only one person at the call center taking cancellations versus the thousands of people signing up HOURLY.
If it wasn't obvious already, anything with a free trial that's remotely pharma related in the affiliate marketing world is dodgy. Real, empirically tested and approved, medicinal substances cost a lot of money.
If you can market it and live with yourself, good for you, but don't kid yourself for a moment that you're doing consumers a favour with products that are placebos at best and stiffs them for up to $120 every month until they cancel their credit card and ruin their already crap credit scores.

Yeah I didn't promote CPA health offers on Facebook for quite a while so I kinda wondered out of the loop. At least now I know.

I had two Hydra offers booted off of Facebook last week...But a couple from NeverBlue are still there and performing well.

Kind of weird actually, considering I have a very, very similar offer running from NeverBlue, but Facebook booted the Hydra version...Go Figure. Time will tell.
