I've studies some landing pages of ads that I see very frequently around google's content network.
One thing I noticed that a lot of them have in common are some of the following; - disclaimer / terms of use / privacy policy - a few random links to useful 'information' sites e.g. a link to wikipedia.org/%topic% or to an about.com page - a lot of them also have a link to a google search query involving the main keyword Now I've HEARD about the first item, that google will generally increase (albeit slightly0 your quality score if your sport a disclaimer, terms of use, privacy policy and also a contact form? But what about the latter? Is everyone just copying what other people are doing or are they actually doing it for a reason? I've read a lot of blogs, ebooks, and courses on CPA/PPC lead generation and the more sophisticated quality-score improving elements such as the above haven't really came up yet. Can anyone shed some light on this or point me to an expert on this subject? |

Those are definitely things you need to have on a squeeze page for better quality score. These items help contribute to lowering your CPC. Everything you listed helps make the page more approachable, friendly and relevant for the visitor. That's what Google is looking for.
There's more to it than just these things, but you're on the right track as far as picking up on what needs to be on a squeeze page when using AW. You've got a good eye there. Don't question it and go with your gut instincts. |

Thanks netd, what other things does Google look for besides maybe a footer text? Also, are these elements equally important for the content network as they are for search?

Google looks for other HTML factors like <h1>, <h2>, <meta>, <title>... (the usual SEO stuff), <alt> and so on. Try to include relevant images using proper <alt> and <title> tags. Be sure to sprinkle the keywords you used on the text ad inside the landing page.
Aside from looking good with AW, make sure it is appealing to the visitor. These elements are NOT equally important for content networks. Not all of them use the same algorithm. IMHO, I just don't think other content network are as advanced to pick up all of these different elements. |
