Hi, I had seen number of CPA sites where, after accpeting our application to become a publisher, they are saying unless we submit the completed tax papers they will not pay the commission. Is it a must? In other words without a TAX ID, SSN can't we do CPA marketing business? Are there any networks which do not have such requirement? Any help in this regard would be appreciated Regards, Shyk |

I have not seen any network that doesn't want a tax id.

I guess you should accomplish all the requirements needed by that CPA network in order for you to work on through. And this is my first time to hear that CPA network is requiring you to submit TAX ID...etc

Every legitimate network will require it. Just a checks and balances for identity verification as well as Government Requirements. | |

I would think providing Tax Id would be better than providing SSN. One could set up a business entity first, get tax id and use that to deal with CPA networks. Another question just popped in my head. Do you think big CPA players use their personal name or name of their business to deal with CPA networks? Think of it another way, Microsoft can deal with lot of other businesses as Microsoft and the contact person could be HR or head of business development. It doesn't have to be Bill Gates. Am I making sense? The idea is to keep personal from business and not mix the two. |

A Tax ID is required to do business. The networks are required to have this ID # of your business in their files, use it for payments, AND report it to the IRS. Don't be silly or naive and try to do business in the big leagues without a Tax ID. Don't use your own name or personal ss#'s for this, get a business, otherwise it screams 'guy in his sweats watching the kids'. |

It depends on where you live. SSN applies to US only as does the US tax ID. Don't know what companies require of those in other countries. kay |

In other words without a TAX ID, SSN can't we do CPA marketing business? Yes you can do CPA marketing business without a TAX ID, SSN you just won't ever get paid. Now that just would not be a smart business plan. Sorry just being a goof. They do need to report to the government that they paid you and that is why they need that number. If you want to get paid then you have to give them a number. |

That is true for US citizens. If the CPA accepts those from other countries, the requirement is not the same. When posters don't have their location in their profile, we don't know what applies to them. kay |

Ya.... Networks in the US require it... I us an EIN number..... If you work with companies out of the the US, like neverblue for example, you do not need anything like that. ( unless they changed in the last few months but they have no reason to... they are in Canada ) Thank Micah Rush <>< |

I know that when you live outside US you don't need to have SSN and Tax ID, just complete the W-8 tax form. Read the tutorials on how to fill it if you aren't sure what you're doing.

The SSN/Tax ID requirement is to save them paperwork. Without that info, they would be required to withhold US taxes on any earnings you generate. With the info, all they have to do is put out an annual 1099 on earnings above a certain level (I believe it's $1,000 but I could be wrong). If you care to avoid having to submit that, find a network that is not located in the US. |

Yes, you do need a tax # or use your SS#. When I register I always wait until I see if I am going to make any money before I update my account with my numbers. There have been times with I have gotten into a program that I just haven't generated any commissions. I don't want my numbers in cybar space if I'm not going to see a return.

Thank you all for the responses. I am a student in USA from India. Hence I do not have SSN and Tax Numbers. However I do have a USA phone # and a US based address for correspondence. I was accepted into most of the USA based CPA net works. But after acceptng, now I am realizing that all of them have a condition that unless we share our SSN or Tax ID and complete the Tax formalities they will not pay the commission. The same is the case with Canada based CPA net works too including neverblue network. On the other hand if we provide them with Indian Address and contact numbers, most of them are straight away rejecting although their websites say that they encourage publishers from accross the globe :-) |
