Hey guys, I've been reading some of the CPA threads and it looks something I'd want to enter sometime down the line. What do you think are skills a relative newbie ought to have before putting his feet into CPA (i.e.PPC, traffic generation etc.)? Thanks! |

If you want to make long term cash with CPA, master PPC. PPC is the only thing worth mastering in IM. This is not an understatement. Take a look around and you'll realise the big earners are all doing PPC, period. |

It's true that PPC is the best thing worth mastering when following the networks rules but actually there are tons of ways to make money with CPA. The problem is that most CPA methods out there are against the ToS-s of the networks so if you want to be 100% whitehat then PPC is the one, if you don't mind bending some rules and want to use free methods then look around and you will find many. (Of course for a total newbie the most important skills are the basic ones of knowing how to set up a domain name and hosting, creating simple websites and stuff like that.) |

Some of the most important things that you need to master are slecting profitable offers , generating targeted traffic , especially PPC marketing and converting traffic into leads or developing high converting landing pages . I Hope it helps Mike |

Good Tip Mike CPAMF, I have seen some people here kind enough to share their exact PPC campaigns and many of them are not even breaking even. So If you are new be careful with PPC. I still incorporate some free methods that are very effective and are totally White Hat. I also like this posting ..... Do's and Don'ts of Internet Marketing | Cash Tactics

| PPC is something good to learn, however search is the best thing you can master. Once you have search traffic, you are basically there. Search is free once it gets going and as targeted as PPC. It may cost a fair bit upfront, but in the long run you are going to bank!

@daniel - thanks for that add - that search is ultimately where you want to end up. My wife and I are discussing which way to go - I want to go PPC/CPA near term, she wants to forget PPC/CPA and start with a product site and learn SEO. I have a feeling that each route will teach us something. |

An affiliate manager actually found my site by browsing a long-tail keyword I had inadvertantly targeted on the 3rd page of Google... I had done no SEO at all. So you can see how with actual SEO work you are making life a lot easier for yourself... but you also want to do PPC to make sure you're getting direct, targeted and immediate traffic to your offer.

It's indeed will be your best weapon when it comes to CPA but never go there without good knowledge of it. There's also another powerful method you can use like CPV... Not all networks or offers allow them but most of them do..

I would highly suggest joining a program like clickbank first. Market threw ppc. But before you do that. Research a ton. There is plenty of info out there. I would suggest cashtactics.*net. They have a ton of free info there you can spend a week reading threw. They have a board also that you can join and also have a free ppc course you can join. I would look into that. Next I would get a html editor that is free like NVU. Google it. And build a few sites for fun just to learn. Get on youtube and start watching videos about it. With that also get hosting. I suggest hostgator. Learn all of that so your comfortible with it. And promote some ebooks and learn alittle. At that point you have all the basics. So for free you can learn some PPC and how to build some landing pages. The reason i say this is when you jump into cpa networks you will be much more prepaired and seasoned. That way you know what your talking about when you apply. If you can promote threw ppc you are good. Then i would move more to learning the free traffic generation if you wish to do that also. If you apply to a network and say i do not use ppc, i dont know hwo to build a site to rank, but i do have some tricks i learned to get free traffic. Well i dont think they will be to hot on that statment. If you have the basic skills about the most they will ask is for a landing page, and you can whip one out quick becuase you have that skill. |
