Would be great if you could list any places that you would recommend for media buys. I'm especially interested in Image ads.
Also please list the required deposit. Since I'm relatively new and have to watch my budget I prefer cheap media buys Mainly promoting financial offers, so if you could give me any ideas for placements that would be great too. Thanks for your help, I appreciate it. sOliver |

I have not done media buys, but know that they are not cheap. I have been told by people who were seriously researching media buys that basically the minimum your going to start out with is $10,000. And even then its testing from there on out to optimize it. It is a big risk, big reward kind of game. But now with the economy it is easier because you don't have to compete with huge companies that will spend ridiculous amounts of money just for brand building and don't need to profit.
Now what you can do on a small scale is this. You want to promote financial wich there will be a lot of competition right now. But google financial terms and find sites, blogs, forum, anything that gets the kind of traffic you think could work and either do a whois search and contact them. Say hey i am interested in putting up a banner on your site bla, bla, bla. Now you might get lucky and find someone who never was asked this and say hey ill give 100 bucks for the month and they might be like wow thats great. The other way you can do this is do exactly the same searches but look and see if they have adsense. If they do you can test different sites like that. Just do placement ads there and see if you can make that profitable. Its like a mini media buy. Then if it is working see if you can work out a deal with the site to put up banners. Hope this helps. |

No offense sOliver, but I probably wouldn't tell you where to do profitable media buys if I knew because I'd be trying to do them there as well!
But, I do wish you the best of luck. I haven't conducted any media buys, so I don't have a frame of reference from which to share! |

I have had some experience with media buys . . .
You get the best deals the more you spend. MySpace.com is the worst place . . . I would recommend Casale Media to start if you have $10,000 to flop down. |

I recommend Adbrite if you are starting off.
Adbrite Instructions: 1. Make sure you go the the "Directory Link" 2. Don't go to the website and just setup a campaign, because it will cause some damage to your bank account. 3. You want to find relevant websites that you can purchase space on. - Make sure the space is under the fold, that your ad is visible and not at the very bottom of the website. - The average CPM you want to look for is $0.75- $1.50. I have found these to be the most profitable areas. Also it depends on your payout for the offer. - Make sure you have a designer create you a banner, I have used some banners from the networks, but I prefer to create a banner that is relevant to my pre-sell page. - I have found higher conversion rates with pre-sell pages and instead of direct linking. This is my own personal experience. - Set you daily budget to $100 and begin testing. Manage your account and see the results and make sure you are is appearing. |

Sorry for that **********-esque post guys. I just talked with my affiliate manager about this, and he recommended I check out Pulse360. I'm here to share value, so you all should know as well - best of luck.
