I've been running a 125x125 banner on one of my sites and have accumulated over 200 clicks in the past couple weeks but absolutely no sales/commissions. How long do you let a banner run before you dump it and replace it with something else? I would have thought that I'd get at least a 0.5% conversion rate, but that hasn't happened. Would appreciate any advice! |

Not more than 200 clicks, with no sales. Try to change the banner. Use an eye catching one! |

It entirely depends on how much commision you're getting paid per sale/lead . If you're trying to sell a $2000 course and you get paid $1000, then it may be worth allowing 500 clicks to transpire, if you're only getting paid $30, then I would say it's worth changing to something else. You have to look historically at what your sites traffic converts at as well, is it qualified traffic, and so forth. There are clicks, and then there are clicks.... | |

Clicks don't matter, what you've spent and what your target roi is does. Using the $2,000 course example. If you want to get 100% roi on your investment, (your traffic), you can spend $1,000 to make $2,000 gross, ($1,000 net). SO you would let the banner run until you've spent $1,000. At that point, if you don't have any conversions, you know the banner doesnt' work on that site. |

First I would add some more buners, maybe this one is not good enough then I would check CTR and leave only these baners that have high CTR after few days.

Maybe you should build a presell page .. it will help out with the conversion issues .. anyway .. it depends on how much you are paid per sale to know if it could be profitable for you.

But to spend $1000 with no conversion, it is not easy! Right? Quote:

Well...your getting the clicks...so the banner is doing it's job. Have you thought about the fact that you just may not have the right demographics for that particular offer? |

Or may be the offer itself is not good enough to make sales! Try to find another one. Why not use a more than one offer and use a rotator script to test. |

Few Things: How targeted is your traffic? I have had many instances that banner I was promoting, I personally thought it would convert, but it didnt. So I stuck on rotator on there and changed them up. Are you paying for this traffic? You mentioned is on your site, but are you paying to get traffic to your site where the banner is located on? Where is the banner located at, in terms of where on the page? |

SimonHarrison and PPC-Coach are dead on! It depends on the offer and your ROI. What I have learned very fast, the hard way, after blowing tons of cash in ppc, learning landing pages, testing, conversions, etc. (ad nauseum), that low and behold, this is now a full-fledged business! You will not make money without investing one of two things. Money, or time (which is money). This was a hard pill for me to swallow. After all, everyone selling you something will tell you how EASY it is to make money online. Simply not true any more. Well, my answer is going way past the scope of this post. At the end of the day, the answer is... Just depends. Tony |
