Default Identity Theft From CPA Networks?

Are there any known cases of this with CPA networks? Are even the well known good ones (like Neverblue, COPEAC, Market Leverage etc.) really trusted? I'm starting to get worried as somebody mentioned this to me about how there may be some "backend" identity theft that could go along these things. Not to mention I've given my SSN and all my information out when I signed up with some networks I've heard were pretty bad and scammy awhile back (including Millnic Media).

Hey Mark!

I have not had any experiences like that but I am glad you brought it up. Always good for us to be on our guard. The Forces of the Dark Side are everywhere.

Everywhere.

Always good to do some homework first.

That's terrible to even think that a business would jeopardize your life like that. I haven't heard of anything like this in the industry. I can't speak for other networks, but I know that MarketLeverage goes through great lengths to protect our publishers' identity and values your business to the point that we would only want to help you along, not hurt you!

That would pretty much be the end of the network if that happened.

I've never heard of any cases.

I can't think to say to anything but "wow" to this.
You basically ask a question about identity security, and proceed to answer it with rhetorical questions about how evil and shady these companies are.

If an affiliate network ever let its data out, it'd be gone the next day. The fact that they're still in business is testament to them on a number of levels.
Considering that major international employment agencies, accounting firms and even investment firms have had their data centers compromised should make you rethink where your paranoia should truly lie.

Any "backend" theft of your details would be isolated individuals who are looking to exploit the level of trust they get in a position like that anyway, such as disgruntled account managers or tech workers, and they would likely do that with any job in which they can handle other people's information.

I definitely agree. I doubt a network would let any of high level information out.

They will not jeopardize their brand and business.

Well sorry for asking. I'm just saying anyone I tell about my online income to who's head is outside the internet world asks the same fricken question. Also considering the fact that most of these companies are outside the US. And not to mention, I've been a victim of serious identity theft when I was 16. So I think your wrong as far as me being "paranoid". Anyways, yall have provided the answer that I wanted to hear to my original question. Thank You.

Maybe not private data but I heard you need to keep your keywords secret as merchants or AMs could take this data and use for themselves, hence having sites like Prosper202...I could be wrong though

This is a possible (if not existing) major risk..with CPA networks that come up overnight and look like they will make you millionaires. I always stick with reputable networks.

The Warrior Forum is a good place to get a run-through on a possible CPA network you are thinking of working with.
