I continue to see questions from people who've applied to become an eBay partner or join a CPA network and get turned down. If they include their url, it's often filled with ads, on a free host, script generated and/or a design mess. The easiest way to get accepted is to create a true website (html or wordpress) on a non-controversial subject. Think gardening, cooking, lawn maintenance, fly fishing, etc. Regardless of the subject matter you eventually want, for approvals avoid legally difficult subject matter such as cures for cancer, anything not G-rated and anything that raises red flags on potential intellectual property issues. In other words, don't use a trademark name as your domain name, or a celebrity's name or pirate someone else's website material. All your website needs to get started is five pages, but ensure: 1. Have text on your homepage. In other words, don't rely on a script that creates a page. Do it the old fashioned way (just for this website). Browsers (eBay and Google) only view text. If there's no text, to a browser that means there's no content. 2. Hold off on Adsense ads or Google widgets or anything commercial on your on the website before you apply to eBay. Get eBay's approval before you go back and add Adsense, etc. Google won't care about eBay ads but the reverse is not true. 3. Have a privacy policy page. Use Microsoft's or Google and rework for your own or go to dmoz which has a ton of samples: Open Directory - Computers: Security: Policy: Sample Policies 4. Register your own domain with a real address and a real phone number. Most CPA networks will insist on reaching you via phone before you are approved. They'll also check your domain registration. 5. Once you're approved, immediately activate and use your account. eBay may cancel you if your don't; they don't like dormant accounts. Hope this helps. |

Thanks for the guide. I've gotten rejected before, but I think they're just getting a lot more strict on what they accept these days. Ethan |

When I first tried for an eBay affiliate I made a lot of those common mistakes. My page was already monetized with both adsense and amazon. Great tips.. And also remember with CPA networks there are tons of them.. So if one rejects you it is not the end of the world. |

Please help clarify something. Do you have to have a different EPN account for each site you want to sell a product on? Is that why people buy multiple EPN accounts? I thought you were able to use one account for as many niche sites as you wanted.

Rashamba, You only need one EbayPartnerNetwork account. Excellent advice about avoiding controversial topics and trademark violations. I would add to avoid anything that comes across as hype or BS including obviously phony review sites. With the government starting to go after people and companies using these tactics, more and more legitimate networks are going to want to stay away from anyone who starts out this way. While I agree that you don't want to submit a website that is nothing but one giant advertising site, having some advertising is fine and indicates that you know something about affiliate marketing and are likely to be an asset to whatever affiliate program you are applying to. Just make sure that you have useful content as primary focus. That said, Ebay is not a fan of sharing with Amazon, so I would not use a site with Amazon banners when applying to Ebay. Robyn |

so true, EPN is getting harder to get in these days. Seems like a great product idea by showing n00bs how to get accepted, or the best way to create multiple EPN accounts without getting busted. |

I really had all the No-No's on my site when I applied last year. I still was approved and there are so many who say, what did your site look like when you applied? I am now, in astonishment as well, as I've saw many not approved who were much better than that of mine own.

I've been getting approved all day, just started last night. I created a site for my company so I looked more professional - I also called them after I applied, 100% approval so far. Now what ;-) |

Thanks for all the great info. I currently have a wordpress blog hosted on a domain I own, but it is advertising a Clickbank product. I assume this will not be a problem? Also, would anyone with a free second mind taking a look at the site...just to see if this is in line with what you're talking about. Would a site like this help me get accepted or do I need to try another route? Here's the link... Help Get Your Ex Back - Get Your Ex Back Fast Thanks! Derek |

Few ebay tips Be very professional. Have a very professional voicemail just in case. They love anything where there is a big market for second hand niche stuff. No free email accounts. They wanted older established sites ideally. They can be tricky to join. It could be wise to JV with someone who has a well established site? Hope that helps. Many people recommend going with someone like Amazon first until you have a site they will accept. |

I signed up for eBay years ago so I could buy and sell occasional single items. Do I need some other type of account if I want to sell more frequently?

This is nice guide for the newbie . I like to add that if possible sign with only reputed cpa networks and always go into as many as cpa network because one cpa network offer you 32 $ per lead and same offer if you promoted by different cpa network , you will get 38 $ per lead . You can use offervault to check the highest payout offers .

Thanks a lot for this advice. I have been rejected many times in the past by CPA networks. Do you think that if I put up such a website as you have mentioned and get accepted by ebay and CPA networks, then I can go on to create more sites on other topics and promote CPA offers through them and not get noticed or penalized by these networks?

That's some very helpful information. I am just now getting into CPA. I didn't realize that they would contact me via phone. Is it inappropriate to use my cell phone? Are you saying that we should register a 1-800 number?? -Noah |

EPN just never replies to me. I'm a full time affiliate but I can't get the light of day from those guys. With their new quality click pricing, we pay you whatever we feel like model, I'm not sure I want in anyway.

I have received EPN approval for my main business website, a business in the motor trade that has had it's site/domain for 5 years. I ONLY used that site because I thought it might be the sort of thing they would look kindly upon. What I want to know is if I now setup several Niche Store websites and use them to drive traffic to EBay, will the EPN folk know that I am not using the original website for which they gave approval? It seems that I am supposed to register each domain I intend to use with them, but if I don't tell them will they end up banning me? Are they "spying" on us? |
