last night i was thinking about this idea... imagine that your competitor has a website with lots of users. he earns $5,000 from adsense clicks - i know such guy but he is my friend and i thought what if...

i was thinking that someone could easily make google ban him from adsense. for example you could organize army of people to go to his site and click google ads, day after day after day. that traffic would not convert of course and IPs would repeat all the time.

dont you think that this is a way to destroy someone?

i guess google could see something strange going on but how could they say if this 'army' was send by him or his competitor?

hehe no i am not trying to do that... i work in ppc industry and i am trying to locate problems (holes) that could damage the system. this one looks pretty dangerous to me.

but you are right, *I THINK* you could take someone down especially if his traffic is low...

Yeah technically you could do something like that... but it really won't do anything to help your earnings or search engine rankings.

Just because you blast somebodies Adsense ads and get them banned doesn't mean you are going to magically rank higher than them in the serps.

There is also a script you can install so that the ads only show so many times per IP..so there are ways to prevent it.

I am not really sure what made you think like this but it will not work..

Someone did the same to me before and I noticed it in my adsense account.. I contacted google and informed them and they responded and told me that somebody was clicking my ad (but is wasn't me)..

Google has all the statistics and benchmarks so whatever illegal activities might happen, it will not succeed..

some people didnt get it. i wasnt saying 100 clicks from 1 IP but 10000 clicks from people all over the world! :-))))) now thats a tough problem isnt it?

Nope - more a fantasy scenario. Destroying your competitors adsense gains you nothing unless you just like to cause trouble for others. It's his traffic you would want, as that's where the money is generated.

You are asking about organizing people from all over the world (10k is the number you used) to take an action once a day that you tell them to take.

Have you ever tried to organize a committee of 10-20 people? If so, you'll know why "organizing" 10k people is such a funny idea. Why would that many people care if you want to "take someone down" - they wouldn't unless you pay them but that brings up another problem...

With that many people, the "secret campaign" you've organized won't be a secret long and it's likely they'll point right back to you and adsense won't something you have to worry about for your own sites.

This comes under the header of "things that aren't worth worrying about".

Precisely how is this a CPA based question? Adsense is PPC for a start.

Secondly, Google has fraud algorithms in place to prevent people abusing Adsense like this. You'd need to get proxies to change the IP every time you clicked, otherwise Google sees one, or a couple of IPs, just clicking clicking clicking, and assumes it's someone with a vendetta... not click fraud.

This trick's been tried before. It used to work. It doesn't anymore.

my idea was in line with new services that are popping out lately... mturk (from amazon!), shorttask, microworkers...

its very easy to recruit 2,000 people to do *anything*
real human traffic... its YOU surfing... no difference...
even google wouldnt know.

I don't think the task you mentioned is not allow by the microworkers or mturk mods. However, if you do hire people to click on sites what will happen is advertisers will refuse to advertise on the site.

If someone do successfully post such as a task I believe it could be traced to that post or job easily.

I rather spend the time and money for people to dig or bookmark my sites.

This technique in some form or not has been around for atleast 3 years. It's a variant of "Google bombing for Adsense." See here at this link for the date that it's listed, 2006. Google Bombing for Adsense? - Jim Plush's Programming Paradise Google is more than capable at protecting themselves and their valued publishers. This won't work anymore, it hasn't worked for a long time. Don't waste your time.
