Default Do you drive paid traffic via blog?

Is it a good idea driving paid traffic to a blog (in essence become a landing page)? I have done my own sites (pre-sell as well as review sites) to drive traffic but not sure if adwords favor blogs and if yes which ones. thanks.

I am not familiar with paid traffic and not even in favour of it as i think so genuine traffic on your site/blog is really genuine and gives you real visitors who are really interested in your blog. Paid traffic will not benefit you much as they are just doing it for money and not actually interested in the relevant niche.
P.S. I have not tried it myself so i am also looking forward for some posts regarding this.
Thanks

Webmatic, either you are confused or I am. I don't see how you can say that paid traffic isn't interested in the site and are only doing it for money. If you think of paid traffic as the auto surf crap, then you might have a point. Does anyone still do that? When I think of paid traffic, I think of the Google adwords and all of the other PPC programs that the other search engins run. So if someone clicks on your ad, they must have some interest in your niche or you created a poor ad.

Yes that's what I meant with paid traffic, ppc through adwords or other tier 1 search engines. I like to know if others are using blogs for this:
PPC --> Blogs --> Merchant
or
PPC --> Squidoo --> Merchant (creating lense)
or
and other template or method that is quick and acceptable by google?
