Default PPV - Blackhat or not? I've heard both

Hello All,

I would love it if I could get a definitive answer to this question. Some people here on the forum say its blackhat, and others say its fine - and that the CPA networks will gladly accept the traffic from PPV networks.

I have read the TOS for the CPA networks I belong to and they all state "no adware", however, several marketers have said in their reports and WSOs that the CPA networks will actually accept the traffic - they just won't publicly say that they do. Several of the WSOs on the forum right now are completely based on sending PPV traffic to CPA offers.

So which is it? Will they accept the traffic or not? Has anyone ever been shut down and banned for sending PPV traffic to their CPA offers?

Looking forward to some clarification....
BJ

I also questioned CPV/PPV in this post:

WARNING: If you are cheating the system, you will be banned and not paid

Apparently (from the answer I got), PPV is against the rules of some networks and not others. I found it interesting that PPC-Coach, who owns his own CPA network, promotes it. Therefore, it must depend on the network.

I plan on staying with solely whitehat methods for now and build up a business and long term skills rather than trying to make a quick buck.

I say for anyone wondering to read the terms of each network and try to stay within the bounds of them.

bjallen,

some of them accept traffics from ppv. you can ask your AM which offers that accept adware traffics. one of cpa network that accept adware traffics is epicenternetwork.cxm.

Thanks Woody,

The thing that confuses me is that with some CPA networks, it states in the TOS that they do not accept PPV traffic - but there are some marketers here on the forum who say that they will if you ask. And they also swear that they are doing it every day and it is perfectly OK with their AM. I am trying to find out if this is really true. I guess I should go ask my AMs and see what they say.

Woody is correct - see my response, post #25, in the thread he provided.

That is basically what it boils down to.

I just found it funny that there were WSOs advertised as b.l.a.c.k.h.a.t. and all they were doing is promoting using PPV then there were other's who said it was acceptable. I was just plain confused.

Personally, I am working on PPC right now and I am going to stay away from CPV/PPV until I get a steady cashflow from PPC.

PPV is certainly NOT easier than PPC, the opposite actually.

And in regards to the blue farts - i see some people calling some methods "blue farts" which IMHO really are not.

Example: Linkbuilding, interlinking of some blogs to gain PR/SERPs rank. I wouldnt call such techniques blue fart at all.

Depends on what aspect of CPV you are talking about.

I find CPV much easier and faster to setup and don't have to worry about creating landing pages, quality scores, getting sandboxed, etc...

However, it is harder to find winning CPV campaigns.

But there are certain things that you can do to improve your chances of producing more winning campaigns.

John

If you want to use adware, sign up with MaxBounty. They permit adware promotion for many of their campaigns.

That said, I've had terrible results doing so. Adware isn't any easier than PPC and you can easily spend more than you earn.

You can make money using PPV, but you need to test...there is no magic solution. And no system that will take you from zero to $5000 monthly on autopilot.

Campaigns that you think are no brainers will drain your budget, and you will be
surprised by some of the campaigns that take off.

You need to take into account the demographics. These are consumers who
are willing to be subject to multiple ads in exchange for free downloads. I find it annoying enough getting all these popups when I am viewing various affiliate offers.
I would rather pay for whatever games or other content I wanted instead of dealing with ads popping up all the time. But people viewing your ppv ads have made the decision that they are willing to view ads to save money.

Keep that in mind when you are choosing your offers and the urls you are targetting.
