Facebook Advertising for Likes--Effective?

Hey all,

It appears to be fairly cost effective. It looks like I can get a decent reach for $5 per day. Great. What I'm wondering about is how many of those impressions will convert into likes. I know that it's heavily dependent on the page itself and targeting, so I guess I'm just wondering what your experience has been.

For instance, I'm being offered a minimum of 400 reach for $5 per day. If 10% of those convert, that's 40 likes. Okay, I guess, but if only 1% convert, then not so much.I'm just trying to get a feel for what my total expense will be given that I will also have to pay to boost posts.

What has been your experience? Much appreciated!

I run ads for various clickbank products to relevant facebook pages I manage and even whilst driving traffic to these offers i still manage to see probably 100 new likes a day

One thing worth mentioning with facebook - having the biggest fan page isn't the be all and end all

You need to have a page where the people are actually engaging with you, liking and sharing on your posts - otherwise you will only ever get exposure to about 1% of all your fans - without paying to boost your posts

Thanks! That is encouraging. I figured that people on Facebook would "like" fairly easily, but I didn't want to assume.

Do you send out other people's content—generally useful or sharable posts like quotes, how tos, guides, etc—to increase your EdgeRank?

Or do you keep it tightly focused on your niche? I've seen very, very good results from curating other people's useful content on Twitter. Is it roughly the same here?

I don't want to reply on boosted posts, of course .

On the whole, you get what you pay for.

I keep each one focused on its niche and try to post say 3 things relevant to the nice per 1 thing I am trying to sell

Although links to informative how to's etc are nice I still find amazing pictures get the most likes/shares/comments etc

It can be worth it, if it is highly targeted towards the niche that your fan page is based off of, as it is basically list of potential customers that you can constantly promote new products geared towards your niche over and over.

IMO it's not worth it. I find it can get very expensive and to me I'd rather direct them to a sales page

Hell yes it's effective for me at least. I went from 600 likes to 1,500 likes in 3 weeks. This was with only $40 spent. Everything played a role. I got paid likes, but keep in mind that those likes can show on another friends newsfeed where they NATURALLY like it. In addition, adding valuable content catered to the Fb page helps a ton as well.

    Everything plays a role.
