Hi Guys

I am new to this forum and to the CPA networks.

Recently with one cpa network ( I am not sure if I am allowed to mention their names here )

I have had 15 confirmed leads/downloads , but when I checked my account only 2 out of 13 has been converted to $ $ .

These have been confirmed from twitter people and other various ways after I became suspicious .

I try to call my manager 3 times and emailed her 4 times NOTHING . iS THIS NORMAL . I understand if they take 1 or 2 of my earnings but 11 something is not right.

Any ideas ?

Please help

This is the one aspect of CPA that bothers me a ton. It seems like you could gather a good number of leads and be expecting funds and end up getting a lot less.

What would be great would be a list of cpas that do this consistently.

I think they all do it here and there. It's not the network but the advertiser doing the shaving. All they have to do is report clicks as fraudulent or fake and they are not counted. I'm sure most advertisers on the networks have custom scripts built into their landing pages that automatically denote a click or two here and there every few minutes. Unfortunately, the networks don't seem to care enough to do anything about it so until they step their protection up for their affiliates this will continue to be a major problem. I've personally had campaigns running at a consistent 27% conversion rate for weeks suddenly drop to 13% out of no where, and with no changes to my strategy. It sucks, but its part of doing CPA so be prepared for it.

Yes, some CPA networks do not count some conversions as legitimate. I do not know the reasons behind that. We understand that sometimes, there can be a fake signups or inappropriate signups. But, 11 out of 13, not being legitimate; it is not possible. Expose that network here.

    Depends what network your with.

Some are pretty shady, i'd be interested in knowing which one your with.

Weird that your AM doesn't answer your e-mails either.

I only use the following, and have no need to go with any other, maybe you should do the same:

    Neverblue
    Copeac
    Clickbooth
    Maxbounty
    MarketLeverage

    Hey aff1,

I wouldn't be so quick to accuse your network of shaving. I know how it is because I was once a noob too

But considering that you're dealing with small numbers like 15 leads (obviously the $ depends on the offer), it's very unlikely that they would shave.

What is more likely is that either the people on twitter are lying (if you are promoting with incentives), or that they have not completed a step of the verification process like confirming an email address.

    Hope this helps!

Its unfortunate that these companies are giving CPA networks a bad name. I currently own a small CPA network called NichePerform... We're still very new (just two weeks old) and we're trying to establish ourselves within the community but its difficult when its impossible to be trusted due to the fact that many CPA networks shave leads and have no explanations as to why. Not to mention there are some networks that just plain don't pay affiliates. My hope is that once our first few months of checks go out, we can begin to get things rolling... but like I said, it is difficult due to many faults that other companies have.

Most advertisers do the shaving for zip and download submits. Most networks have around 3% shave rate.

This happens, unfortunately a lot to newbies. What you need to do is test with a lot of networks, and as you grow you will get invites to private networks where this doesnt happen as often. The more you grow, the less this happens.

Yeah, it's the advertisers who do it. But it differs from network to network, based on the advertiser's profitability on that network I guess. I've tested come offers from the same advertisers on different networks and some perform 5 times as well as other. First I got pissed off and blamed those networks, but now I just try to test until I find a good one and then run it hard for as long as I can. Sometimes you can only run the ad a few days and then they start shaving or scrubbing, so you can rotate offers and get rid of any offers that start to perform poorly.

My experience with that is all on email and zip submits. But I have heard guys talk about Bizopps advertisers doing the same. I've never run any myself though.
