CPA - where to start?

Hi,

I have only just started dabbling in PPC via direct linking with Bing Ads (and so far not successful at all, but its only early days). It seems everyone is suggesting CPA is more the go.

Is this your opinion?

What would you recommend as a good way to get started, like best networks, setup method, strategies, etc....

I'm a total newbie with PPC and CPA, so I just need some pointers to get me started.

Thanks in advance!!

    Hey David,

    How's it going?
Honestly I would say set $500 as a budget every month to invest in data.
From this data you will heavily tweak your campaigns.

Start off with FB and running gaming offers to get your feet wet.
Message me and I'll give you some more insight on whats working at the moment.

    Hi David,

Direct linking is dangerous as you can most likely get suspended if you continue to do this. The best thing is to build a squeeze page and then learn how to promote it right. I'll be Happy to help if you need some tips and tricks to get started.

    Cheers

IF you already have some experience with Bing, why not stick with ppc and Bing and just work on learning it more?

As ChrisBa stated, I would just stick with what you started on. I can tell you from experience that direct linking and Bing does work. I'm not sure what type of offers you are promoting, but try a few low dollar campaigns. This way you can learn the ropes and see if a campaign is worth further testing without blowing through all of your budget too quickly.

modify your campaigns to use landing pages, then you can rotate any ads in and out as you like to see what converts best. If you decide to go with networks, use something that is free or close to free trial for pay.

Stick with one traffic source at a time. Don't switch too often. If you are learning Bing, try to be the Bing expert first.

Since you already have some experience with bing so it would be wise idea if you learn more in depth about bing ad before you try something new. I know some IM guru making a fortune out of bing ad.

    Hi David,
I think you should keep focusing on Bing Ads and test out multiple small campaigns targeting different keywords.
Another suggestion is that you should avoid direct linking. A better way is to create a landing page with key relevant information (keep it 60-70% similar to the vendor site with some alteration in image and graphic of course) and map your affiliate link to direct them to the vendor site. Having a good silo structure of your site and focusing on the keyword you are targeting will improve your quality score and help your campaign be cost-effective as well. If you want to capture the leads on your landing page you should have an opt-in form as well.
    Hope that helps.
