How easy is it to qualify for $0.01 CPC on Adwords?

I recently took another look at a very niche product I've been selling on one of my websites and realized that certain search terms that are very related to that product have exactly zero ads being displayed for them in Google searches. I believe this means that literally nobody else is advertising for those keywords.

I've never run an Adwords campaign and recently looked into it. According to Google, the CPC of your ads is not based solely on competition between bidders but also on quality score.

I was just wondering if anyone else has experience bidding for search terms with zero competition. Is it very easy to get $0.01 CPC for those terms? Or does Google try to screw you over and make you pay more even though there's no other bidders?

If it's possible for me to get $0.01 CPC then I think it would be profitable for me to start running an Adwords campaign. But I've never done this before, so I need advice.

Sadly, $0.01 CPC is not a reality. Test things out...create an Adwords campaign, add your keywords and see what CPC you need to compete.

On a similar note: is it against the Adwords rules to have the clickers land directly on a product sales page, even a non-spammy one?

I recall a few years ago Google banned internet marketers from doing this, but I can't find anything about it now in the Google Adwords policies.

First of 0.01 is just a dream these days and i dont think so there is a problem driving traffic to your sales page however it depends if the product , sales page etc comply with Google's guidelines or not

I just started an Adwords campaign and unfortunately it appears that $0.01 clicks are only a dream because Google doesn't want to sell ad space that cheap.

The keywords I want to advertise for literally have no other advertisers at all. I don't see why Google won't run my ads for $0.01 since it would be making them more money than not running the ads. But sadly, that's how it goes.

That said, I will have to let my current campaign run for awhile before I can see what the CPC ends up being.

what?$0.01.CPC. How is it possible. I think it is hard like a dream. The think you do is create a campaign and see what cpc you should bid. Good Luck.

I decided to set the Adwords campaign to automatic bidding with a limited budget, just to see what Google would charge me.

My first cost report came in and the ads are costing $0.15 for my more general keywords that actually have some ad competition, and less than $0.15 for the longer tail keywords that literally have no competition. Some of the keywords with no competition at all are costing me $0.05 per click.

Currently the quality score of my ads is quite low, which may be increasing my CPC. If I could raise it, perhaps the costs would go even lower. But to do so, I believe I would have to make a separate landing page on my site for every Adwords keyword, in order to maximize relevance. I'm not going to do all that work during this initial test phase though.

If there were a chance I would say it might be with the display network and in very non competitive niches in markets with low noise. I see it very very hard in the US/Europe

  • The key is to use keyword research tools to get a list of 5000-10000+ keywords that you can target..

See, if no-one else is bidding for a keyword, then your 0.01 bid will win, and you will get very targeted cheap clicks..

    1) Go to the Google Adwords Keyword Tool
    2) Go to the 7Search Keyword Tool

    3) Build up a notepad document of 5000+ targeted keywords.. (The more the better)
    4) Setup a adwords campaign for $0.05 max CPC (Remember: use conversion tracking)

You will definetley get very targeted clicks..

This video explains everything Traffic Video

    Hope this helps..
