I am trying to understand the concept of the use of landing pages for capturing emails and building lists.
I want to promote a Clickbank XYZ.com offer and I create a landing page using (landing page genius) for it. I use trafficvance.com to direct traffic to my landing page (landing page genius). I have captured the end users email (opt In/Aweber). When the end user clicks "Submit button" they go to a "Thank you page"

My question is: What is the "Thank You Page" do exactly? Does it take you to the Clickbank offer directly? I seem to be stuck on this concept. How does the exactly the Clickbank offer get promoted with trafficvance? Any help is appreciated

    I would thank them for joining for starters. Next I would explain what you are going to email them, and how often. It would tell them to add your email to their address book, so you don't get marked as spam.

    Lastly, I would put a link to the offer and explain here is the solution you where talking about, if they don't get your email.

      In this case wouldn’t it be better to have the “Submit Button” to open new page that does three things:
      1: It accepts the “Name” and “email” capture
      2: It opens a new web browser page that goes directly to the offer page (Clickbank offer landing page) and forces this web browser page to be on top
      3: It opens another web browser page “Thank You Page”

      Option B:
      1: It accepts the “Name” and “email” capture
      2: It opens a new page that goes directly to the offer page (Clickbank offer landing page)
      3: It opens a new tab in the primary web browser page “Thank You Page”

        In alot of cases (like when promoting clickbank offers) the "Thank You" page serves as 2 purposes.

        1. To Introduce who YOU are to your prospects and who they will be receiving emails from

        2. To "Track" conversions (i.e. how well your squeeze page is converting) You need to have a place to put your conversion pixel and in some cases the "Clickbank Vendor" does not give you a place to put this tracking pixel.

        Tracking is everything, so having a thank you page is imperative to improving your squeeze page conversions.

    You have 2 options with a thank you page, that bring effective results..

    1) Send directly to affiliate offer
    2) Send them to a page that says

    'Thank you.. you free [Report, Video, Etc] will be in your inbox in the next few minutes'
    In the meantime, check out this amazing product..
    Don't worry, you don't have to do anything, you will just be re-directed to it in 5 seconds.. Trust me, it's an amazing opportunity..'

    And add an automatic re-direct to it.. using html..to the affiliate offer.

    No2 is better because..

    1) You can track landing page conversions more effectively (Because you own the TYP)
    2) People have you recommendation that it's a great opportunity
    3) People understand why they landed here ( On affiliate offer )
    4) The initial autoresponder email with the [Report,Video] access link has better open rates
