2,000 + Visitors to a new website in 36hrs - Adsense Question

Just got a website up that ive wanted to get going for a while but put it off for the right time. That time was about 36hrs ago. I am driving at least a thousand visitors a day and will continue to do so.

I added adsense to it about 12 hours ago and its reporting 12 cents in earnings i believe.

Do you have any experience with adsense? And if you do what kind of traffic would i have to achieve to make lets say $10 a day to begin?

It doesn't depend on how many visitors you send but how targeted the audience is. If the adsense ads show what the person is searching for then they'll click on the ads but if the ads are not related to the info they're looking for then they'll ignore the ads.

Placement is also important, check where your visitors spend more time while browsing your site then try to place ads there (do a lot of split testing till you find the right placement). Getting a lot of traffic doesn't mean people will click on the ads and these days a lot of people use adblock addons on their browsers so maybe they don't even see your ads.

If you can drive that kind of traffic then I would advise you to focus on building an email list and promote affiliate products via email or promote your products instead of relying on adsense pennies.

Understandable. I am doing just that as well. I do some teespring and talk with a 10k shirt guy who always extends himself to help me. The traffic is from my 4k facebook fanpage about a popular tv show. I can make shirts hinting at the themes of the show and be okay because there will be no copyright infringement.

However, ive always provided the best content for my audience compared to similar pages. I never placed an ad or anything. So I feel like if i drive them to a website that is selling things I will be betraying their trust sort of? And I don't want to do that because I want to hold a strong relationship.

That number of visitors a day is awesome but the only problem is Google isn't too crazy about Facebook traffic clicking on their ads. That's probably why your revenue is so low.

However, that doesn't mean your revenue won't improve. I've noticed in the last couple of years when I get one of my sites a swarm of traffic, it's as if Google Adsense's algorithm refuses to credit me with clicks until it verifies these clicks are legitimate.

If you can get a hefty amount of search engine organic traffic mixed in with your Facebook traffic, which is what they would probably prefer in your case, you just might be ok.

The fact that I started getting reported clicks so quickly is impressive to me though. Usually adsense would take a few days to display data. And 6 clicks in 12 hours is kind of low I guess. But it's 95% US traffic and adsense went up at midnight and now it's 12pm. Not really primetime traffic hour.

Also depends on where that traffic is coming from.

If you say you put up a site 36 hours ago and now getting 1000 visitors a day, I would assume it's social media traffic.

If it's stuff like Stumbleupon, you'll get very very few clicks.

What would be the best way to utilize a list built from visitors to my site?

Easiest way would be to just register a free mail chimp account, install sumo me List Builder on your site (also free), and just get people to sign up for updates.
