It’s going to be important that you do not appear to be a newbie when it comes to marketing.

You will need a decent website setup. This will allow you to get approved quickly.
Most of them can allow you to use a free blog like blogger

After you have sent in your application they will send a message to you.
Call them immediately. This is what you need to say over the phone: “Hi, I’ve just signed up as an affiliate, and I want to talk to an affiliate manager to get me approved.

Tell them you are a ppc marketer and you do direct to merchant pay per clicks. This is sufficient to “convince” them you know your stuff and to get you approved. You will be using Google Adwords, MSN Adcenter, and Yahoo PPC to promote a variety of offers. Do not ramble into un-necessary detail.

Here is a list of CPA networks:

I am going to respectfully disagree to a certain point here. As a network owner yes we want people who don't need their hands held the whole way through...but at the same time we respect that there are newbies and they need to make money too.

Many networks do not like newbies for the fact that they take a lot of time, and sometimes do not understand the rules.
My honest answer here...is that you need to be honest with the person who is interviewing you, and be straight up. Just do not make them think you are going to be a time sponge! If you have newbie questions save those for a forum or for skype chats or google...and only approach your affiliate manager with the important questions...and let them know that up front.

Dont get me wrong affiliate managers are paid to answer questions...

I have over 20+ different CPA networks I do business with and have yet to talk to one manager over the phone! LOL!

You just need a website that's general enough to fit a few niches - the corporate one works because it doesn't tie you into one niche.

Then just be honest in your application:

"Hi, I am really interested in building a mutually beneficial relationship with your CPA firm after hearing good things about it from many marketing peers on various IM forums. I've been learning how to drive traffic in various verticals and after a few trial successes I feel confident that I can drive quality and highly targeted traffic to your CPA offers. Gee, I would really appreciate an opportunity for us both to make significant conversions. Thanks much!"

That should be enough to get you into the door of a few mainstream agencies - the top tier dogs will probably not take you without prior track record elsewhere, but those recruiting new affiliates will definitely take you on. The important thing is to show results soon and take snapshots of these for the top tier networks and apply to them - now you will have a track record and they can call the other agency and actually get a good report on you.

If you can't seem to get in any, there are a few on this forum with links in their signatures that instantly approve you. Try them, work hard and get that good snapshot of your results for the big boys!

Get a professional "corporate type" site done so you look like a media agency. Then fill out an application form and call them up for a swift approval. Always helps to speak to a rep.

I would also recommend to stick to anything "lead-based", where you get paid for each form submit without a credit card like insurance quotes, loan applications or debt enquiries. Even credit rating reports can work but anything that pays you a commission per lead instead of a sale is much easier to promote so stick to these for starters if you can.

Also stick to PPC as it's still the best source of high-quality traffic (i.e. Adwords and BING are usually the number one choices I would recommend).

    Hope that helps

Learn on forums, CPA related blogs, communicate with people.. But make sure you read a lot at first to understand the concepts. Once you learn it, start your first campaign. And then just repeat those processes.

You can get approved easily, if you have legit traffic source and you are honest with them you will get approved. If you need any help add me on Skype - NikolaCPABeyond and I'll help you.

    Best way to start:

Do lots of research, frequent forums like this one, maybe even join a training course if you think you might need one. When you actually start promoting offers, try sticking to one niche and one traffic source to start. You'll find you wont become as overwhelmed this way, and can gain more knowledge of what is or isn't working when you have less to focus on.

    Best way to get accepted:

BE HONEST. It's okay if you're new, everyone starts somewhere. but lots of networks including MaxBounty do accept newbies. You just have to have a plan as to how you will promote offers if you're accepted into the network. Be able to communicate that plan clearly and you'll definitely increase your odds of having your application approved. Having a website to start is also a great asset, but not a mandatory requirement.

    Hope this helps.

I advise you to search the forum well and learn from all the threads and posts about Paid traffic for CPA offers. There are a few on the point WSOs that focus on this so look for them carefully to see which one is more the value you are seeking. I would also search for A/B testing and threads that feature case study with PPC.

Other search terms: Google PPC Ad Testing, Bing PPC Ad Testing, Facebook PPC Ad Testing, etc. Also do the same search in your favorite search engine which also should include youtube. School is now in session!

Once you realize what is involved in creating and testing PPC advertising, then and only then, should you start your campaign - small at first and tweak before going bigger.

Best way to start - are you interested in paid traffic or free traffic? Do you have any previous experience?

Getting accepted to networks - just be honest with them in how you plan on driving traffic to their offers is normally the best and easiest way to do it

I totally with Chris. As a matter of fact I talked to most of my affiliate managers as I wanted my students to be accepted. All what the managers told me is to tell my students to be as honest as possible. Now I think I can explain what happens in aff networks. with the level of experience you are assigned an aff manager. This has happen to me. when I was growing in my CPA marketing as I grow my aff managers keep changing. So when you are honest you are placed under an aff manager under your level.

I think you need to know which verticals you want to explore, and be specific on how you want to go about it. Do some research on this and then apply. At least you will have a pretty good idea of what you will be promoting upfront. This will make it easy for you in the phone interview that most networks now require.

Hey fx2000, have you started with CPA yet?

If you are still on the fence, I suggest you apply with peerfly. It was the first network that I applied when I started out about 3 years ago and was a beginner that time and was accepted. Just be honest with them and tell your plans on how to promote cpa offers.

The best way to start would be to establish your own high traffic website on a certain niche of your interest and post banners of related CPA offers.

    Hey Fx2000,

I posted a thread not too long ago explaining step by step how to get your CPA business started, in case you didn't see my thread, here are the free tips...

Step One - How to get approved by CPA networks?

First, choose the networks that you want to join. You will need to choose from a wide collection of networks to land up with the best offers and payouts. In some cases, different networks offer different pays for the same offers that are being made elsewhere too. So, choose the one that suits you the best, and make your profits.

Next, fill up the submission forms and then answer all the questions to the best ability of yours. As you can tell they are interested to know what you’ve done, if you have a website, how much traffic you generally receive and how you plan on getting traffic to make sales online. Do not feel pressured, if your knowledge is very little, you have to begin from somewhere. So Remember to be honest and cut to the chase. Most network managers may give you a phone interview so if you said on your application you sold $2500 on click bank with no proof you will not get approved.

To speed up the process, I would recommend calling up the CPA network as soon as you complete your application. Network managers will appreciate the enthusiasm since you’ve taken the time to call them up, they will be impressed enough to have you working for them right away. To make sure you sound confident, I would recommend writing down a business plan on how you intend to promote their offers, this way it will make you sound more prepared and confident to take action.

Step Two - Best Networks to Choose

    Maxbounty

If you are looking for a reliable affiliate network to promote your products then MaxBounty is the perfect CPA network for you. As long as a marketer has a website of his or her own, one can use MaxBounty in affiliate marketing. The network also allows international publishers to market programs. It has a good reputation in the affiliate industry which is evident from the abundant threads found on many affiliate programs out there. A minimum payment of $50 is made. This amount can increase substantially for those working with MaxBounty.

    Copeac

Affiliates working with the COPEAC have the advantage of earning commission of up to 2% just to refer other marketers to this network. Other than that marketers can use Cost per Acquisition or Cost per Sale techniques to promote the offers available on the programs on this network. A minimum monthly amount of $100 is paid via wire transfer or through checks for those working here.

    Direct leads

DirectLeads is a CPA network that has all the qualities of a good network. This includes Cost per Lead and Pay per Click pay offers to its affiliates. It also reports all referrals and commission on real-time basis. Affiliates are also paid commission on the basis of referrals to other marketers. The only drawback of this network is that it pays a minimum of $20 after two months to its affiliates which might be a considerably long gestation period for most marketers.

Step Three - Selecting your CPA offer

Once you start getting approved by these CPA networks, Pick the ten best offers which have the most potential. By finding out which ones are popular demands, use Google trends to help you get the hot topics which are most searched for in the news and search engines. This will help you get big easy money since you’re researching the markets you’re promoting.

The next job of yours will be to find out how much of traffic the CPA offer in your spotlight can ever create in the chosen niche? For this, you can use the Google’s keyword research tool. You may use other tools, but when it comes down to traffic hunting, there is nothing that can ever top the Google power!

Finally, you now have to move on from research arena to the campaigning one, and this can be done in just one hour or so, where you will have your PPC up and running in no time! If you have a large portfolio of sites, it is possible for you to still keep a lookout for better offers being provided in the CPA networks. If you do find any, you have to reverse-engineer the entire process. By this it means that you will have to build up a site around the desired offer. But you have to make sure that the domain name that you use should be closely related to the offer that you make. However, it does not imply that you will have to throw away the site if the offer does not generate money for you and is taken down. All you have to do is to keep two to three alternatives open while you are building up your site, so that you can always replace the banners and texts so as to promote a different offer. This method is tricky, but it is very easy too.

    Be as honest as possible.

Let them know what vertical(s) you are interested in...

And where you will be sending traffic (1 or 2 sources will do).

CPA networks get a gazillion applications...

And I'm pretty sure they know when someone isn't being real with them.

OP i suggest you to read around this section first before even giving any traffic source a go. I dont think you need to call the network a call to get approved. I mostly find these managers on Linkedin and add them on skype...and this is where they conduct my interview

Be honest with how you plan on promoting their campaigns because if you are not honest while filling the application then you surely will be in trouble.

If you're looking to start out and learn a lot of the basics + some intermediate information about CPA, we put together several videos that help out.

    Visit contentlockinghelp.com

The name includes content locking but a lot of the information is applicable to CPA in general.

    I hope that helps!
