Do you prefer PPV or PPC these days?

I'm considering moving over to a PPV model for my business but would like to hear from the crowd on whether or not it's a good idea.

What are the benefits and drawbacks of the potential move?

Well, that always depends on your business module ... for instance are you trying to sell your own product or are you an affiliate (Not all aff. networks or merchant accept that kind of traffic). In what market / vertical will you be working? Do to the nature of how the PPV / CPV companies got their clients to download the adware, there are markets that have no, or nearby no traffic ....

Generally speaking PPV traffic should always be used in conjunction of other traffic sources, it is not the grale / solution for solving your traffic issue.

Interesting reply OPLeads. This is a good point because most people tend to stick to one source.

I like PPV both for simplicity (no need to create landing page to test an offer) and cost.

However, you need to understand that the PPV audience is only appropriate for certain
      offers.

While you can target using urls to reach people who are interested in whatever
niche you are promoting, you have to remember that these are people who have agreed
to allow ads on their computer in exchange for free 'whatever.'

High ticket items are not good for PPV.

So what a good price point for offers?....say $1.50 to $10.

What a good offer price to promote?

PPV is best for trial offers etc.

Otherwise normally offers in the weightloss, bodybuilding, gaming, gambling, dating, insurance, shopping (general) etc. work pretty good.

Sometimes I get a few sales of high ticket items; but then most likely it is a family computer where the kid downloaded the toolbar / adware and the parents bought something in the evening.

    PPV can change affiliate id?

like this, i am targeting merchant pages url, other affiliate promote that product and people click to merchant pages via other affiliate website and suddenly my website appeared and i was set cookie convert (affiliate bully), and this will change other affiliate id to my id.

    is it true?

As stated above, PPV traffic should be used in conjunction with other traffic sources, and, PPV traffic does not convert well in every niche. The traffic comes from people who have installed some type of software/toolbar on their computer accepting that they will be marketed to.

you're gonna need deep pockets to be successful with PPV to test what works.

I actually test a lot of my products on PPV and then move to PPC quickly with good landing pages.

I find with PPV - the less the user needs to fill out normally the better..

If you DONT like to test and tweak a lot which is better, content network PPC or PPV?
    Perhaps I should say, easier.
Is there a service (like there is for regular ppc) that will do the testing/tweaking for you?
    For people WITHOUT deep pockets?

If you don't want to test and tweak, then forget about PPC or PPV.

Are you talking about a service to manage your affiliate marketing PPV or PPC? You aren't going to find a service that can do this effectively. If you are involved in this traffic it should be your core competency, you can't trust it to someone else.
