Hi

have been promoting heavily with ad networks, recently been hearing a lot about them simply being a middleman to ad exchanges where the process of media buying is a lot more pinpointed.

Does anyone here have some recommended open ad exchanges I can try aside OpenX/Appnexus/Rubicon project?

Thanks in advance
Daniel

None of the above, except for Appnexus, is an Ad-Exchange platform. Usually getting a sit on one of the Ad-Exchange platforms will cost you an initial setup (a few $10K) and a minimum monthly spend of $5K-$10K.

You can try to contact the following companies, not all of them are Exchange platform but since you mentioned Rubicon and OpenX, they will do the work:

    ConvertMedia
    PLYmedia
    DataXu
    MediaMath
    AdTech (AOL)
    DirectRev
    Admeta

Each one of the platforms has it cons and pros, make sure to do your research first before committing to anything.

        Hi!
If you want to focus on Mobile, I would also recommend to try Millennial, Ajillion Max, BYYD..

Atomx is an Ad Exchange comparable to AppNexus in Look'n'Feel, not in size though. They are much smaller. The advantage: Atomx does neither charge you any initial setup fee nor a monthly minimum fee. For buying networks creative uploads only cost $0.10 one-time-audit-fee. That's it. No additional cost. Selling networks get paid what they see in their stats.
