If you dont touch PPC or Paid traffic source, you will not loose a penny, assuming you dont buy domains (which isnt necessary) and use just free traffic sources.

If you want to be successful in CPA or any other affiliate marketing, you have to accept that not every campaign will be successful.

If you only use free methods of promotion then you won't lose money, but the testing process will usually be more time consuming.

You should be prepared to test multiple offers and realize that not every offer you test will be profitable.

How long should you let a campaign run on a particular offer before you chalk it up as a loss and move onto something else?

The rule of thumb for PAID campaigns is Ad Spend of Two Times (2x) the payout ex: If the offer pays $30, then spend up to $60 testing.

If you get a conversion, then you need to optimize the campaign by eliminating the non-producing components, adding more producing components, and scaling it up.

The critical factor is tracking and analyzing. If you don't track what is producing results and just as important, what isn't; you will not be able to optimize.

        Regards,

        John

Thanks For the input John. I was getting confused on what I needed to be measuring by. I didn't know if I should let it run x amount of clicks (keeping a good CTR) or base it on a dollar amount.

I am finding out pretty quick that a feller can lose his shorts if you don't stay on top of some of the campaigns.

          Thanks again for the advice

Make sure you ALWAYS set a "daily spend" limit on every campaign.

Also, keep in mind that depending on your traffic source, your costs can vary greatly.

I use CPV and the clicks are cheap (~1 cent) but in PPC you can pay $5, $10, $15 or even $30 per click for very competitive keywords. So I can get a lot of statistically meaningful clicks (like 1000 for $10) using CPV where PPC would be a hell of a lot lower number. So make sure you choose your offers and traffic sources carefully.

            Regards,

            John

      Everybody looses.

with CPA you can loose big at the beginning if your main strategy is PPC.

If you don't know about PPC/CPA arbitrage I wouldn't even do PPC.

if you are a nooB, than start with small zip submits and send some mediatraffic to them.

Probably be about an extra $50 a month to start but mediatraffic is a definite set, forget, and observe strategy w/ CPA.

BTW- Neverblue is the CPA network I use for this. Planning on scaling up soon.
