Prosper202 - Tracking ROI - Affiliate Marketing

Hi guys,

I'm relatively new to IM and have just gotten my feet wet with affiliate marketing.

I use PPV method to promote affiliate offers. I just want to know how to track conversions and ROI of the Affiliate offers.

I did quite a bit research on Google and successfully installed Prosper202; gone through all their videos.

As per my understanding; in order to track conversions; we should give the tracking pixel to AMs to put on our offer's confirmation page. Is this the best way to track conversions on Maxbounty, Copeac and neverblue? And is this reliable?

I was just looking for a way to track without their intervention. And read about Post back URL as well. Do these three networks support post back URLs? And which is the best way to track?

Any pointers to good info on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance...

I know NeverblueAds supports the global postback url, so if you enter the postback url info you get from P202, it will automatically track when you get a lead.

ChrisBa, subid is certainly a option. But if i want to track all my keywords to see which keywords are converting better then i have to create one destination URL for each keyword. I doubt if this is a good process. And moreover my AM will easily which keywords i'm targetting.

You said you have prosper 202 right?

Tracking to the keyword level is exactly what 202 does. I have been using it for quite awhile and it is a great tracking program.

with 202 you don't need to assign each keyword a new destination url. You simple use the link that 202 generates.

when set up properly 202 will automatically assign a new number for each unique visitor that comes to your landing page if that person then turns into a conversion for you that unique number will show up in the affiliate network subid reports. take those numbers and upload into your 202 account and then 202 will match them up to the keywords that produced the sale/conversion.

Also AM will not see your keywords because there is a cloaking feature inside 202 and all your subid's will just be random numbers.

202 really is a powerful tracking tool.

Is this true for the version you host yourself as well? Where do I find those aff. network Sub-ID reports and where do I plug them in to Prosper 202?

Yes, same goes for Prosper. Even though the way Prosper is using is that the SubIds start with 1 and after each click the go up. 1,2,3,4,5 etc.

If you have trouble setting up your aff link so it can properly track subid, then check out the forum on Prosper - there are several examples and a vid.

Well, there are three ways to monitor your sub Id stats...

              1) Manual Way: you go to your Affiliate / CPA network and most likely under Stats you will find an option to download your subids. You teh can upload the report under the "Update" tab in Prosper.

The next two ways are automatic:

Prosper gives you two automatic ways to update your stats. The First is through a Pixel or Trackback Link. Both options require that your aff manager has to place them on the offer thank you page. But after this has been done, Prosper now can tell which click (subid) converted, which keyword and Ref brought the click and overall keeps track about your campaigns ...

It is true for all versions. like opleads said you can set it up so that the subids that produced conversions update automatically or you can upload them manually by copying and pasting from the aff network subid report.

as far as where to find the subids in the network just look around there should be a a feature to see your subids. If you are unsure just ask your affiliate manager.

Would you say this is a better way to track than adding the yahoo/adwords/msn pixels? trying to figure out the process by which you transfer the information from prosper202 to actions when you're managing your campaigns on adwords/yahoo.

Prosper has many advantages over using the adword pixel (which is more thought for if you own the offer):

      1. Prosper does not reveal the kw to the network / merchant
      2. Prosper allows for one tracking system, instead of having to look at all the traffic sources separately.
      3. You know the searched for kw, IP address, referrer etc..
      5. etc..

Of course it is a bit more complicate to update your campaign (delete kw) if you use Prosper. But as long as you know how to use the adwords editor together with something such as the Keyword Toolz (here on WSO), Ad Genade or Sped PPC it does no take too much time.
